We do occasionally update the ranking algorithm but never to benefit an individual fighter. Aldo and McGregor are not even ranked in the same weight class at the moment and there’s no reason to keep Conor ranked at FW until he fights at that weight again.

Head to head results only matter immediately after a fight. As soon as one of the fighters fights again, the ranking will change based on the outcomes. Beating someone doesn’t mean you will be ranked above the fighter you beat forever. The more recent the fight, the more impact it has on the current rankings. We went over the Kongo/Minakov scenario many times so no need to beat that dead horse again.

Serg, maybe they changed the algorithm and lessened the importance of head-to-head fights so that Jose Aldo could still be ranked higher than Conor McGregor.

There is almost no plausible explanation for Minakov below Kongo. Minakov beats same fighters as Kongo and better, and Minkaov beats Kongo! System used to be better, maybe has become edited for desired results

Quinton Jackson somehow 39 rooms, and won there, it won a controversial decision, and you are putting it on the 13th? Past achievements?

Again you Kongo Minakov above, you probably do not think about the power fighters, and the likelihood of his victory, and a coincidence?

Should Struve and dos Santos be ranked above Miocic?

  6. Serg September 18, 2016 at 10:38 pm Reply

I do not understand why again Kongo above Minakov, which he lost, despite the fact that he kept his shorts? And do not say that Kongo defeated a strong opponent, a strong opponent somehow won Volkov, whose Minakov just killed. Stop humiliating Minakova, which puts on Sherdog eighth place. I do not agree with your system, when the down-and-out accidentally strong fighter flies once a few notches down … why you convicted of doping retain their positions?

Before asking where a specific fighter is ranked or why they aren't ranked:

- We update the rankings once per week, usually on Sunday or Monday.

- Fighters who have not fought in 450 days or more ARE NOT RANKED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

- Use the "Fighter Search" option in the upper-right of the page. The fighter may be ranked in a different division.

- Most of the divisions have multiple pages beyond this one. See the clickable ranges above and below the ranking table.

Furthermore, we do not maintain the "next fight" data. This is gathered from Sherdog. Any issues regarding this data should be forwarded to them.
