Why are only the top 15 listed at atomweight while most of the other divisions have far more? There are plenty of atomweights not mentioned.

If anyone reading has the same question, it’s because of the point system FightMatrix uses for fighters. A 0-0 fighter has I believe 10 points, and when you win, how much your point total moves up (if at all) depends on several factors including the point total of the person you just beat, or down if you lose. It can also go up even if you lose by split decision if you lose to someone ranked far higher than you, and the inverse is also true.

So global divisional depth is roughly reflected on FightMatrix by how many fighters get above a certain point total. Right now the approximate criteria for expanding how many fighters get ranked is how many fighters have at least 25 points. As such, Atomweight is right where it should be, at 15 fighters (Women’s Featherweight also has only 15 fighters listed). Not all divisions fall in line with this, but FightMatrix never reduces the amount fighters ranked if a division contracts in size globally (like HW or LHW).

I would guess that AW will expand sometime in the next year though, as it gets slowly deeper.

Janaisa Morandin 7-0 is often listed as atom weight but I think she wants straw what else would an evil princess want.

Though would like this list extended..
Jihn Yu Frey, Jujeath Nagaowa, Kirstie Gannaway
    Lena Tkhorevska…

Many are afraid if atomweight star Michelle Waterson goes to the UFC atom weight will fade. But I can see that all these girls are just getting started maybe some stars only 2-0 but this will grow.

Stephanie Skinner is currently 4-5 with 2 recent big wins under her belt

Hi, I’d like to request that Celine Haga’s nationality be changed to Norwegian. She’s a Norwegian national with a Korean mother, who currently resides in New Mexico. Her only connection to Japan was that she had most of her matches there and I _think_ she probably lived there for a while.

Before asking where a specific fighter is ranked or why they aren't ranked:

- We update the rankings once per week, usually on Sunday or Monday.

- Fighters who have not fought in 450 days or more ARE NOT RANKED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

- Use the "Fighter Search" option in the upper-right of the page. The fighter may be ranked in a different division.

- Most of the divisions have multiple pages beyond this one. See the clickable ranges above and below the ranking table.

Furthermore, we do not maintain the "next fight" data. This is gathered from Sherdog. Any issues regarding this data should be forwarded to them.
