Tokoro’s rating is more established and lost a split. Bowles was coming off a loss to Cruz, year of inactivity, win over relatively poor opposition (Page), good win over Mizugaki, but got KO’d. That’s one quality performance since fall 2009 — over 2 years. The rating you see are primary ratings, there are other metrics we utilize. If you don’t like the site, don’t bother visiting. The only way in which you can reference direct head-to-head results in this system is if the fight was both fighters’ most recent fight, otherwise, it can’t be the major portion of your argument.
Looking back, Banhuevos literally had 66 points before beating Tokoro, yet Tokoro losing had around the same, possibly even smaller effect of losing to Banhuevos than Bowles did to Faber. Nice.
Consistent, fair? The ranking system is an abomination at this point.
So let me get this straight, Bowles drops an immense 8 spots, and over 30 points for losing to Faber who’s ranked 3. But Tokoro barely drops losing to Antonio ****ing Banuelos? Who btw skyrockets all the way up to 8 to outrank a guy in Torres who has just crushed him a fight prior. AWESOME.
[...] (135) [#5] Alexis Vila (11-0-0) vs. [#21] Eduardo Dantas (12-2-0) Eduardo Dantas is the All-Time #18 ranked Bantamweight [...]
I see no issue with the current ranking of Bowles, given the positions of Torres, Mizugaki, and his recent performance against Faber. If you want to argue that Banuelos and Tokoro are too high, than that is something entirely different. Warren and Fernandes are comparable situations as they recently moved downward in division. These rankings aren’t division-specific.. fighters take their points with them when they move divisions. If you want to make your own rankings, please feel free — the Internet is large enough for the both of us. BTW, you are aware that software generates these rankings right? The software isn’t perfect, but it’s consistent and fair.
bowles should have only been dropped one spot, two the most. He lost to faber who was rated above him and he drops 8 spots but guys like vila makovsky fernandes tokoro and banuelos and warren are all in the top 10? not to be rude, but sometimes these rankings really confuse me especially when especially fernandes hasnt beaten anybody of relevance. hansen was not that relevant when they fought. torres jorgensen bowles and johnson should be in the top 10. but tbh i should make my own rankings based on guys who beat worthy oppenents rather than guys who crush cans in japan and even in bellator, though makaovsky could be at 11 the most
[...] match-ups. Wins Against Common Opposition: Ryan Bader leads 2-1 . Bantamweight (135) [#17] Michael McDonald (13-1-0) vs. [#136] Alex Soto [...]
[...] (135) [#58] Darren Uyenoyama (6-3-0) vs. [#93] Norifumi Yamamoto [...]
Just as I start to get the feeling that the divisons are going to sort themselves out and actually look like a ranking that isn’t utterly ridiculous, Antonio Buenuelos manages to sneak past fighters like Torres, Johnson and Jorgensen.
Not to mention, a fighter in Torres who completely embarrased Buenelos and booted his scrub ass out of the UFC. Sad.
When a fighter moves divisions, they take their points with them. When they move down, they get a slight boost. Feather is stronger than Bantam and it is why Bibiano is so highly rated.
