Why a Fixed Edge Is Easier to Rate Than a Fighter

Posted on October 9, 2026 by A. J. Riot

Every rating system for fighters is an estimate built from too little data. A fighter might compete twice a year, against opponents who are themselves only partly known. Compare that with a game whose edge is written into its rules and repeated millions of times. One number is a judgment under doubt. The other is close to a constant.

This Week’s WHR Bets/Parlays (2026/#31)

Posted on October 8, 2026 by Jason

Still trying to get out of this hole…

Fights considered must satisfy all of the criteria below:

  • Both fighters must be active (fought in 360 days prior to event).  Reduces uncertainty.
  • Both fighters must have at least 7 fights in the prior 7 years, including 1+ loss.  If the loss was in their debut, then 2+ losses are required.
  • Both fighters must be rated in the same division as the fight.  Further reduces uncertainty.
  • Must have odds from at least three bookmakers.

What Is Round Robin Betting? Costs, Payouts and MMA Examples

Posted on October 7, 2026 by A. J. Riot

So what is round robin betting? It turns one pool of selections into several smaller parlays instead of a single all-or-nothing ticket. You choose the combination size, every combination of that size gets built, and each is settled as its own bet.

At equal stakes per bet, that costs more than one parlay, because you are buying several bets at once. Wild.io’s round-robin calculator lists the combinations and all-win totals, but the arithmetic below is small enough to check by hand.

DWCS 95 Turned a UFC Employee Into a UFC Fighter: Sal Everett Leads Four-Contract Night in Las Vegas

Posted on October 7, 2026 by Andrew Carswell

Sal Everett went from stocking Dana White’s refrigerator and working security around the UFC to knocking Ozzy Martin unconscious and earning a contract of his own, while Mateus Soares, Roque Conceicao and short-notice replacement Preston LaGrange joined him after an explosive night at the Meta APEX.

Meta Apex, Las Vegas, Nevada – Dana White’s Contender Series has spent nearly a decade selling the possibility that one performance can completely change a fighter’s life. On Tuesday night in Las Vegas, that premise became almost literal. Sal Everett arrived at the Meta APEX as someone who had already spent years working around the UFC, handling errands for Dana White, walking the building on graveyard security shifts and watching other fighters chase the opportunity he wanted for himself. Less than two minutes after the opening bell against Ozzy Martin, Everett was no longer an employee trying to reach the UFC. He was a UFC fighter.

Fighter Purses and Casino Payouts: Why Both Still Run on Bank Transfers in New Zealand

Posted on October 7, 2026 by A. J. Riot

Carlos Ulberg left Miami in April with the UFC light heavyweight title and a badly damaged knee. The Auckland fighter knocked out Jiří Procházka in the first round at UFC 327 on 11 April. Reports since suggest the injury could keep him out for up to a year. That puts a spotlight on something fans rarely see: how a fighter’s money actually reaches New Zealand. The answer is old-fashioned. It still travels by bank transfer, much like casino payouts.

Offshore vs Regulated Sportsbooks: How UFC Betting Markets Differ

Posted on October 7, 2026 by A. J. Riot

UFC bettors in the US can encounter very different markets depending on where they place a wager. Regulated sportsbooks operate under state rules, while offshore platforms follow licensing requirements outside the US. Those differences can affect available props, live markets, betting limits, account verification, and payment options. Understanding how each model works helps bettors evaluate UFC lines beyond the headline odds and see what actually separates one sportsbook from another.

UFC 332 Is Days Away. Here’s What Kansas Sportsbook Promos Look Like for MMA Fans Who Bet With Data

Fight Matrix’s own program for UFC 332: Silva vs. Wang is already up, and it’s the kind of preview this site exists to produce: every fight on the Delta Center card in Salt Lake City run through three separate rating systems before a single bell rings. The bantamweight bout between Deiveson Figueiredo and Payton Talbott is the headline name-value matchup, but the systems themselves are more interested in the middleweight pairing further down the card.

How Do You Clear a Criminal Record in Canada?

Posted on October 7, 2026 by A. J. Riot

Published: October 2026

You apply to the Parole Board of Canada for a record suspension, which is what a pardon has been called since 2012. To qualify, you must have finished every part of every sentence, including fines, probation and restitution, and then waited five years for a summary conviction offence or ten years for an indictable offence. The application fee is $50. A record suspension does not erase the conviction. It removes it from the main Canadian Police Information Centre database so that it does not show up on a standard criminal record check.

That is the short answer. The details decide whether it will work for you.
