Man, it’s annoying when people don’t get the Inactivity rule (450 days), even when it’s bolded.
I Agree with sanders except to say that st. pierre isn’t a lightweight. but if Faber beats mike brown he should be forced to go up a weight class and fight tyson griffin again and then get a title shot
or go down one and fight miguel torres then go up after he beats that ass
Give the guys outside the UFC some credit? Have you seen Aoki at 2? Hirota at 3? Alvarez at 5?
I don’t see why Melendez is not #3. Is it because of his suspension? Did Aoki’s recent win catapult him above Melendez really?
I just wanna know why Satoru Kitaoka is ranked higher than BJ Penn??
Satoru Kitaoka is a no-name who fights no-bodies in a weak orginization. He hasn’t fought top contenders except Takanori Gomi. and he has 8 losses to more no-bodies.
BJ fights in a tough orginization with the best fighters in the world and he’s the champ. and his 5 losses are to beasts. Here’s his losses… 2 losses to a welterweight GSP (current UFC champ) 1 loss to a light-heavy weight lyoto machida (current UFC champ) 1 loss to welterweight matt hughes (former UFC champ) and 1 loss to jens pulver (former UFC champ). He has beaten 4 former champs and top contenders in the lightweight and welterweight divisions and he is 1 of 2 fighters in the UFC to have won belts in more than 1 weight class. BJ deserves to be number 1 plain and simple.
Are you serious about these rankings. Kenny Florian beats Guida and you move him up 4 spots for beating someone everybody has beaten. Sanchez gets totally rocked to the point of embarrassment and he is still 8th. C’mon. Give the guys outside UFC some credit.
If Aoki wins, he’s got a shot at #1.
We MIGHT start considering the point difference in UDs for 5 round fights… If that was the case, Cerrone would not have dropped quite as far.
The thing with BJ Penn is that of his 5 losses, 2 were to GSP at 170, one was to Matt Hughes at 170, one was to Lyoto Machida (a much bigger man) in an openweight fight, and ONLY 1 was at 155, to Jens Pulver (which was a split decision that many people thought Penn won). Since decision wins/losses aren’t true wins/losses, it is noteworthy that his non-decision record is 10-2 (those losses being to GSP and Hughes, both at 170). At 155 though, Penn is 9-1-1 (with all but 1 fight in the UFC, the lone exception being a win against Takanori Gomi, ranked 11 in this matrix). If you take away decisions and draws, BJ Penn is 8-0 at 155 (7-0 in the UFC). So when we put things into perspective, we see pretty much all criticism of BJ Penn is due to his performance at weight divisions he really didn’t belong in. The fact is, at 155, he is a king. He only fights in higher weight classes because he’s so dominant at his optimal weight (much like how Anderson Silva has dabbled at 205 and Fedor Emelianenko fights at heavyweight even though he could cut to 205 if he chose to). Some people have even made the dubious claim that GSP should go to middleweight because he’s just so freaking dominant at 170.
The point is, BJ Penn is king of the 155 world. BJP is B-E-A-S-T.
Penn’s lead was narrow and he hasn’t won in about 14 months.
This is the first time I know of that a UFC contender rose above a champion.
okay quizza what you put up there is a list of names that to which only 1 stands out PENN i said faber vs penn needs to happen well i can see how you could misinterpret the rest out of all those who is going to beat penn not one of them florian will be destroyed in the first round then whose next man bj will become coutre hes gonna see theres no challenge for him and then ufc will make an interm belt and then they’ll bring faber or brown and that matchup on a card with coutre vs emelianenko
Efrain Escudero! (12-0) is unranked while John Mahlow (12-10) is your number 48. i have to figure out this scoring system.
Richard Crunkilton Jr (16-2) only losses are to Hermes and Razor.
and honestly i love your rankings!
very complete minus a few names. but out of 100 guys per weight class. very impressive. good job.
Ok so WEC has moved him to 12-1. We’ll do the same.
it is what it is
not saying i disagree with what you said but i do think he could beat maynard(dont think they will fight cause’ they are team mates)also eddie alvarez, and you might think im crazy but i also think he could be florian. just my opinion.
Hello,
Matt Ricehouse defeated Ryan Coture 6/24/11 on Strikeforce but I don’t see him ranked at 155. Here’s his bio on mma.tv.

Best Regards,
Jayson
And Dustin Poirier is now #1 LW in the world. Ugh what a mess.
Makes more sense than Khabib
Khabib was never ranked #1 – not by us at least
I’m talking about the UFC. This rankings is pretty accurate tbh, Eddie is the former lightweight champion after all
Hey bro, I like that “Show Undefeated Fighters Only” has a checkbox. It’s cool to look at the list like that.
Of course McGregor will drop out after 450.
Don’t know what to tell you about Alvarez and Ferguson. That’s how the points break down.
Alvarez #2 and Ferguson #3…Really??…No. You need to fix that.
Fighters who have not fought in 450 days or more ARE NOT RANKED…that happens to Mcgregor real soon. Will you follow your own rules? I hope so.
diego was great at 170
he was to heavy at 185
he will be fine at 155 and he will be a contender because he is a great fighter for any division and very strong for 155
he picked up stevenson with one arm
Why the hell is Diego Sanchez ranked so high?? #5 That’s stupid. He has only fought at 155 once. And the guy he beat was Joe Stevenson who’s ranked #32. I hope you guys aren’t going off of his win over Ken-flo which was at 185 and over 4 years ago. You can’t translate that win into this weight class. Especially when he looked so emaciated in his last fight you can tell he cut too much weight and cutting weight like that is bad it’s gonna catch up with him if he keeps doing it. He wont be successful at LW.
if sanchez beats guida he should get a title shot without a doubt
The rankings are not division specific.
i hate these submission guys get ranked so high. it bothers me cuz they have no stand up and other people can submit too. doubt the top guy could beat b.j. penn. diego sanchez is going to be a contender very very soon. Where is Guida on this list? am i just blind?
Serg,
I didn’t see the fight. More importantly, the ranking system doesn’t have an ability to “see” fights. All we have is the official decision, which list this fight as a corner stoppage after round 1.
Was there some controversy?
Correction lol
1 Rafael Dos Anjos
2 Khabib Nurmagomedov
3 Eddie Alvarez
4 Tony Ferguson
5 Nate Diaz
6 Edson Barboza
7 Anthony Pettis
8 Donald Cerrone
9 Michael Chiesa
10 Al Iaquinta
Wow. Dos Anjos all the way to 2? Figured he’d go to 4 being that he just lost to Khabib 4 months ago who hasn’t lost since.
How is Patricky ranked better then my boy Derek Anderson. My boy is undefeated and already beat patricky.
http://WWW.ILLUSIVECG.COM
ILLUSIVE COMBAT GEAR.
Aoki rebounded with a win over Kawajiri. There is no blocking here. Melendez was pretty low when he beat Aoki, so a good win by Aoki placed him higher, but just barely.
Recommended daily Allowance?
Rafael dos Anjos?
The win was more than enough to leapfrog Khabib.
I don’t think that winning 4 rounds and getting sumbitted in the fifth is anything like losing a split decision…
The scores in a fight that was finished are not relevant.
Personally, I would do it based upon judges and media scoring.
For instance, Sonnen winning all 4 rounds on every medi outlet and judges score cards but getting submiited in the 5th.
Khabilov won Rd 1 on everyone’s scorecards, but it was split the next two.
Only about Half the media outlets had scored the fight for Khabilov ahd it been a 3 rounder…so I’m not sure if you would add points for thta. However, if it were like Sonnen/Silva 1 where its unanimously all for one guy and then the other guy pulls off a come from behind victory then you could treat it like a split decision almost.
Eddie alvarez should be #4 and not6
Matt, the problem with your ideas is something of an algorithmic issue.
Here’s a simple example of why your idea doesn’t necessarily work, in a hypothetical situation.
Start of the scenario.
3 fighters: a, b, c
a ranked #15
b ranked #20
c ranked #100
c beats b, c raised to #34, b falls to #35.
Then, b beats a, say 2 months later…
b raises to #19, a falls to #20. How you’d suggest it, c should then raise to #18.
What happens if another 2 months later, a beats c?
You would have in 4 months one fighter beats another, who beats the first. A mess of a circle.
That’s the problem with what you suggest, unfortunately.
hey this saya it was updated on 1/02/2011 but shows aoki’s last fight as 10/24/2010? didn’t he get KTFO on new years eve against that K1 guy by a knee to the chin ? or that fight doesn’t count.
Why is shinya aoki above Melendez after melendez completely dominated him?
I see him at #318
There’s no way Melendez deserves to be 2nd.
I just don’t quite understand how melendez is at 4 he should be a clear #2 in my opinion
I could counter that by saying it was a bad style matchup for Aoki, and he’s recently the better, and more proven fighter outside of that one match.
We rank based on points.. that’s really the end-all.
Nate Diaz last fought Don Hyun Kim at WELTERWEIGHT. Go to the top right corner of the page and write his name into fighter search if you can’t find it. He is ranked at #29 at Welterweight. He lost his last fight, after all.
By the way, how do you have Gray Maynard below both Nate Diaz and Kenny Florian, when he beat both of them? He just went to a draw with the Lightweight champ, so where else does he belong but #2?
Also, that’s not a top ten, that’s a top 5. Maybe we’re not the mongoloids here.
What’s the deal with Brian Cobb? Seriously, how’d that happen?
a guy, needs to read the faq questions and than edit his comment
Where’s Charles Oliveria?
We’ll fix. Sherdog had him listed as Mexican for a long time.
Then Matt, how far back would you go to make such an adjustment to keep Melendez over Aoki? If the fight was 1 year back, would that be OK? How about 2? This is very subjective. What if Aoki reeled off three wins against Top 10 competition and Melendez still hasn’t had another fight?
We rank on points and the points that Aoki earned in his win over Kawajiri put him back over Melendez.
Doesn’t count. Hybrid rules.
Well if it was a year or two back, then I could see that. Were the fighters have changed, gotten better and worse. But since it was only what 4 months ago, I don’t believe that he should get the nod to be ranked higher.
As I do respect BJ Penn, im not to big of a fan of him. I would like to see a Maynard-Edgar rematch, and also the winner fight Gilbert Melendez. UFC and Strikeforce need to do a UFC vs Strikeforce PPV. About every year. It would be like WWE’s “Wrestle Mania”
Artiom Damkovsky won his last fight.
every name is being showed twice!
is anyone else seeing this?
thanks
~23?
how come aoki is above melendez when he beat him so decisively in the bout they had?
I suppose that’s fair… and as Zuffa strengthens their monopoly you’ll see less unusual discrepancies like this near the top anyway.
VARNER AT 30 IS A TOTAL JOKE. HE IS BACK, AND WHEN HE GETS HIS REMATCH WITH BENSON, HE WILL KHTFO, JUST LIKE HE DID BARBO. ALL THE OTHER “FLUFFERS” THAT YOU HAVE RANKED AHEAD OF JAMIE, WILL BE DEFEATED IF THEY FACE HIM, PERIOD. WATCH AND SEE AND LEARN.
Whay is Jadamba Narantungalag ranked at #11. Is it becuase of his wins over Yokota and Gono. I understand that it helps his ranking, but should he really be ranked that highly after only 6 fights and 2 of those being losses?
Before I explain why Clay Guida is MMA’s most boring fighter (tied with Jon Fitch) let me say: I like The Carpenter as a man, especially his minimalist way of life and use of The Big Lebowski as a source of wisdom. That said, I hate fighters who try to win 3 round decisions. He is great at takedowns and staying on top, but never looks for submissions (unless a choke falls in his lap). Plus, with very little punching power, he rarely hurts his opponent (his shoulder-barges vs. Pettis were embarrassing). He was constantly on top, but Pettis was the only one in the ring looking even somewhat dangerous, always searching for a submission & trying to END the fight (which should be the goal & be rewarded by the inept judges). The reason I hate 3 round fights is that guys like Guida & Fitch can milk out decisions without ever landing a big punch or attempting a sub. Arrrrrrrggggghhhhh!!!!!!!
Dos Anjos #2 is gone 🙂
Hows does Maynard receive 100 pts for the draw and Edgar lose points? Or is it since nobody is clearly better since they drew, they are of equal ranking?? Hard to believe someone can jump rank in the top 5 with a draw.
My opinion Anthony Pettis and Ben Henderson should be ahead of Shinya Aoki with ease, but hey i know these are Computerized rankings.
Pat Healy is the new Brian Cobb 🙂
I scroll down to the comments to complain about Aoki above Melendez, and someone already beat me to it.
Edgar’s position is pretty well established. When a fighter stands to lose points, if they are established.. they tend to lose less, while the fighter that stands to gain will pick up a majority of that movement. A draw always brings the two fighters closer together in rating…
I think Melendez should be ranked at 3, but not ahead of either Penn or Edgar.
We’ll fix that one. Thanks ivan.
Yes, yes.
Aoki’s 3 recent wins were enough to push him over Melendez, who hasn’t fought since.
Gregor Gillespie should be on this list. Undefeated and running through opponents.
I agree he should be.
http://www.fightmatrix.com/mma-ranks/lightweight/2/#Gregor%20Gillespie
I’ll take a look and see if there’s anything out of the ordinary there.
Siver/Guillard was THREE years ago.
Siver tops Guillard? y’all must be kiddin’ !! Melvin knocked Siver the f**k out in the first round and has fought tougher competition.. he’s every lightweights WORST nightmare… cant wait to see him destroy Miller/Maynard/Edgar… !!
Never thought I’d be saying this, but: Melvin Guillard is the best Lightweight in the UFC. The only thing that can stop him getting the UFC belt is if Gilbert Melendez, the only LW in MMA who’d beat him, somehow unifies the 2 belts before he gets a shot at Edgar/Maynard. (Assuming he’s finally learned to defend the Guillotine!!!)
Gregor Gillespie should be on this list. Undefeated and running through opponents.
I agree he should be.

Alan Patrick being ranked higher than Taisumov is kinda weird, considering he KO’d him

I haven’t commented in here in a while. It was actually when McGregor fought Diaz and then Diaz was then ranked #5 at Welterweight and now Diaz is #2 Lightweight. How so? McGregor, whom I’m not a fan of is ranked behind Edgar but McGregor is undefeated and Champion at Featherweight while Max Holloway is ranked above Aldo but Aldo is ranked higher than him on the P4P list? They are P4P the same weight. And I’ll be done complaining after this one because I do like your rankings a lot but they just seem a little out of sync at times and questionable. How is Edson Barboza ranked above Tony Ferguson?

The length of inactivity is what makes the difference. A fighter’s rating decays drastically after 450 days of inactivity; Jones fought very shortly after the 450-day timeline whereas Khabib was out for much longer.
The other factor is the fighter’s rating before they went inactive. Before Jones went inactive, he was #1 with more than twice the rating points than the next contender: http://www.fightmatrix.com/historical-mma-rankings/generated-historical-rankings/?Issue=102&Division=2&Page=1
Before Khabib went inactive, he was ranked #4 with not that much point separation between him and #5-#10 ranked fighters: http://www.fightmatrix.com/historical-mma-rankings/generated-historical-rankings/?Issue=99&Division=5&Page=1
So the length of inactivity, combined with significantly higher rating and separation from the pack pre-inactivity, explains why Jones returned to #1 spot whereas Khabib landed at #9 upon his return.
Its simple. Khabib beat RDA when he wasn’t the champ. RDA has the belt so he’s #1. But then by your logic, why is Jon Jones ranked higher than DC? While Jones was inactive, DC beat Johnson and Gustafson (2 of the best LHWs). And Jones win over OSP should not play any factor. Just like Khabibs win over Horcher.

You sit out for two years = your ratings points decay, while active fighters gain more rating points and bypass the inactive ones. That’s how the system works. If you don’t think that’s fair and the only facts that matter is that he is undefeated and has a win over the current champ, why do you have him at #2 in your ranking and not #1?

The win over Horcher doesnt mean anything lol its about two simple facts…he’s undefeated and beat the champ, anything else is conjecture. And had he beat Fergeson he’d HAVE to be #2 cmon lol

Rankings are current. After a year of inactivity your rating begins to decay, and decays more quickly after 450 days. Not fighting for two years wrecked Khabib’s rating, and the win over Horcher doesn’t really help anything. Had he fought Ferguson as planned, he would probably be Top 5 assuming he won.

Hard to say. Dunham looked really good this weekend. Barboza looked good until he got submitted. But he was also fighting a much better opponent. Dunham vs Barboza would be a great fight to make.
do you think Barbosa weaker than Danhem ?

How do you objectively and consistently, register a TKO loss as being “close”?
Rustam really should go up, and Diego should not move. Your system gives points for quality performances right? Like having a close fight with a much higher ranked opponent. Considering Benson has only lost once (to the champion) since joining the UFC, and Rustam was, well, appropriately ranked at #18…I think the fact that it was such a close fight should give him points. He got finished yes, but if that were a 3 rounder, then he may have possibly won.
I’m pretty sure you guys do give points based on quality performances.
In the case of Diego, he won, so he gets some points…but it really has to be the least amount of points possible.

What did Barboza do to deserve a Top-10 ranking? He was on the way up but the Varner loss was a big set-back, and his two opponents since then have done very little to increase his rating.
He may very well be a Top-10 level lightweight but he has to beat some higher ranked guys to show it.

Josh, I won’t oppose or support your claim, because as you dredge into the middle of the rankings, you can argue placements like this in either direction. I’m sure that sounds like a cop out, but it’s really only worth investigating if there is a gross injustice and I don’t see one here.
Chromium.. Yes. But this division is so competitive .. 20 rank spots is next to nothing even within the Top 40.

Pat Healy…. you double-checked that one, right? Because wasn’t Caros Fodor only ranked #38?
Can you explain why John Makdessi (9-1) is ranked so low? At #141 he stands as the 9th ranked Canadian and well behind the likes of Kurt Southern and Jesse Ronson, which, in both cases, seems odd.
Did Makdessi just fight the right guys at the wrong times, or what?

I can’t believe Donald Cerrone is ranked 19th! He has added a good wrestling aspect to his already top notch arsenal since his last fight with Ben Henderson.I think he lacks respect because he was in the WEC; the UFC light weights are way overrated. I believe Cerrone could beat Edgar and then Maynard in the same night. Its unfortunate he will have to keep fighting a bunch of tune up fights before he gets to Edgar; if Edgar is even champion by then.

@a guy: Jadamba Narantungalag got that high because he beat Akihiro Gono in Gono’s last MMA match, when he came down to LW for the first time. Gono’s LW score went up a bit from his WW score as it does a bit when people drop down in weight (it’s either a 15% when people go down or a 15% decrease when people go up (meaning a 17.6% increase when people go down a class)). Gono himself had still been riding high in Welterweight via his win over Hayato Sakurai when Sakurai was still relevant (Sakurai was far from his peak and was coming off a loss to Marius Zaromskis but he was 7-1 before that including a 1st round KO of Shinya Aoki when Aoki was possibly the #2 LW in the world). So, by order of succession, and by virtue of the fact that Narantungalag stayed active with a win over a respectable opponent in Kazunori Yokota, he maintains a ranking of #14 today.

Brian Cobb is ranked at 9 and there is a guy with a really long name who has 6 wins is at 14. Your system is flawed, but it makes me want to look at these fighters to see if there is anything special about them. If there isn’t I would like to know how they are ranked so high.

Melvin should be above Siver in the rankings but he could never beat Henderson, Guida, Maynard or Edgar. He also couldn’t take Aoki or Melendez. So he’s a little off from the best LW in MMA.

I suppose that’s fair… and as Zuffa strengthens their monopoly you’ll see less unusual discrepancies like this near the top anyway.
I’ve looked into it. When you rate 2,000+ fighters, you’re going to get many who are overrated. When you get a fighter who beats a few of those potential overrated fighters in a row, in a short timespan, you get this type of situation.
I know Brian follows our site and is proud of his ranking — at the same time, it does feel like he should be closer to #20-25.
This issue was likely exacerbated by his win over Yokota, who was 20ish at the time. As you well know, we are executing the community adjustment on the 1st of every year (retroactively, this was not done every year).. well Cobb/Yokota happened on 12/30/10. <-- I think this is all correct, but don't have the DB in front of me and will verify later. One resolve will be to increase the frequency of the community adjustment for the past few years.. thus putting this into effect as it will be put into effect going forward. Still, I think at most, this would put Cobb down to #12, and likely to #11.

JCS did you ever resolve the Brian Cobb thing? It is legit confusing people who are reading and commenting on the BE-USA Today Meta Rankings. It seems rather a stretch that wins over Kazunori Yokota (SD) and Drew Fickett (R1 TKO) would be enough to put him that high.
There are a few other rankings that seem rather “iffy” even when taking into account the fact it was done by an impartial computer, but that one seems the strangest.

Yeah, Cobb has done nothing to deserve a top 10 ranking.
I’ll take a look and see if there’s anything out of the ordinary there.
What’s the deal with Brian Cobb? Seriously, how’d that happen?

Highest current Lightweight rank of a fighter that Beerbohm beat? Shaolin (#72) and by split decision.
I’d say Beerbohm’s ranking is pretty dead on.
Bang hasn’t been a top tier fighter in years (if ever, really), Shaolin is on the downswing of his career (and Beerbohm only won a split decision). I mean look at current rankings. Bang is #144 WW, Shaolin is #72 LW.
And the fight turned out to be a gimme, as was claimed. A neck crank in under 2 minutes of round 1 looks like a pretty dominating performance to me…

Nate Diaz last fought Don Hyun Kim at WELTERWEIGHT. Go to the top right corner of the page and write his name into fighter search if you can’t find it. He is ranked at #29 at Welterweight. He lost his last fight, after all.
First off!! HOW THE F**K IS NATE DIAZ NOT IN THE TOP 50, YOU MUST BE SOME TYPE OF MONGOLOID. 4. Gray Maynard

hey this saya it was updated on 1/02/2011 but shows aoki’s last fight as 10/24/2010? didn’t he get KTFO on new years eve against that K1 guy by a knee to the chin ? or that fight doesn’t count.
Edgar’s position is pretty well established. When a fighter stands to lose points, if they are established.. they tend to lose less, while the fighter that stands to gain will pick up a majority of that movement. A draw always brings the two fighters closer together in rating…
Hows does Maynard receive 100 pts for the draw and Edgar lose points? Or is it since nobody is clearly better since they drew, they are of equal ranking?? Hard to believe someone can jump rank in the top 5 with a draw.

Edgar och Maynard är bokade, George Sotiropoulos ska möta Dennis Siver, Jim Miller möter Charles Oliveira, Takanori Gomi möter Clay Guida, Ben Henderson möter Anthony Pettis, en direkt rematch med Sean Sherk är en möjlighet men känns inte trolig, Yves Edwards möter Melvin Guillard och Joe Stevenson möter Mac Danzig. We’ll fix that one. Thanks ivan.
Artiom Damkovsky won his last fight.
I could counter that by saying it was a bad style matchup for Aoki, and he’s recently the better, and more proven fighter outside of that one match.
We rank based on points.. that’s really the end-all.
Well if it was a year or two back, then I could see that. Were the fighters have changed, gotten better and worse. But since it was only what 4 months ago, I don’t believe that he should get the nod to be ranked higher.

Will the Florian-Maynard winner fight the Penn-Edgar winner for the title? Cause that would be sick. They should do a 1 day tourny 🙂
I ahve to agree with everyone on how is Aoki ranked higher than Melendez? This whole ranking is all bs. You guys say that since someone beat someone else that they will be higher than them. So going by your rules why the hell is Aoki higher than Melendez when Melendez beat Aoki?
So are we now going by if someone is ranked 100 and beats a guy ranked 20th, they go up to like 34, while the other guy goes to 35. Then that guy 35 guy wins and is now higher than the guy he lost to? If your gonna move the 35 guy up, then the 34 guy should also go up. Meaning that the 35 ranked guy’s win should also help the 34th ranked guy.
You guys need to fix something on your ranking system because this is getting rediculous.
KJ Noons looked reall good in his win.

I don’t see why Melendez is not #3. Is it because of his suspension? Did Aoki’s recent win catapult him above Melendez really?
I think Melendez should be ranked at 3, but not ahead of either Penn or Edgar.
Aoki rebounded with a win over Kawajiri. There is no blocking here. Melendez was pretty low when he beat Aoki, so a good win by Aoki placed him higher, but just barely.
Why is shinya aoki above Melendez after melendez completely dominated him?
There’s no way Melendez deserves to be 2nd.
I just don’t quite understand how melendez is at 4 he should be a clear #2 in my opinion
As I do respect BJ Penn, im not to big of a fan of him. I would like to see a Maynard-Edgar rematch, and also the winner fight Gilbert Melendez. UFC and Strikeforce need to do a UFC vs Strikeforce PPV. About every year. It would be like WWE’s “Wrestle Mania”
it is what it is
There is no “blocking”. The win over Kawajiri put Aoki back over Melendez. Melendez was far below Aoki when he won, so as a result, he did not place that much higher than Aoki after the win.
However, I will look into it to see if there is any point-related issue.

okay quizza what you put up there is a list of names that to which only 1 stands out PENN i said faber vs penn needs to happen well i can see how you could misinterpret the rest out of all those who is going to beat penn not one of them florian will be destroyed in the first round then whose next man bj will become coutre hes gonna see theres no challenge for him and then ufc will make an interm belt and then they’ll bring faber or brown and that matchup on a card with coutre vs emelianenko
The UFC lightweight division has BJ PENN, KENNY FLORIAN, GRAY MAYNARD, FRANKIE EDGAR, DIEGO SANCHEZ (Thats my Top 5) plus… CLAY GUIDA, SEAN SHERK, JOE STEPHENSON, SPENCER FISHER, SAM STOUT, NATE DIAZ, MAC DANCIG, HERMES FRANCA, JOE LAUZON, ROGER HUERTA. This is the first time I know of that a UFC contender rose above a champion.

How the hell did Florian jump up above Penn?
