Betting on UFC – How To Study Form

Posted on July 24, 2024 by A. J. Riot

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is the world’s biggest promotion company for Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and is based in Las Vegas. Founded by businessman Art Davie and Brazilian martial artist Rorion Gracie in 1993, MMA is a combination of wrestling, judo, taekwondo, boxing, jiu-jitsu and more between two competitors. A range of fighting, striking and grappling techniques and skill are used to beat the opponent by knockout, TKO, submission or go the distance with a decision win based on judges’ scorecards.

UFC has become a popular worldwide event and there are 8 weight divisions for the men and 4 for the women. Many bettors love to place bets on the sport but it can be highly unpredictable and so it is advised that before you place a bet, you do lots of research to ensure you know as much as possible. With its worldwide popularity, UFC betting is available at pretty much every bookmaker on the planet. During the McGregor years, popular Irish sports betting apps offers some frankly ludicrous odds to entice customers.  One of the most important factors to consider when betting on the UFC is the form of the fighters. Each fight is unique and whether you are confident on the favourite or love to support an underdog, you must choose wisely.

UFC Fight Night 243 And The Fun it Brings

Posted on July 23, 2024 by A. J. Riot

UFC will not allow its fans a boring day during this summer. We have so many events scheduled in the next few days, weeks, and months. UFC Fight Night 243 is just one of them. This one will be held in the Mecca of fighting, Las Vegas. As we’re used to, the Ultimate Fighting Championship is preparing a true festival for all fans of MMA. Just like many times before the venue is going to be the famed UFC Apex facility. The countdown can start right away, as we’re just a little bit more than one month removed from August 24 which is the date designated for UFC Fight Night 243.

While smaller than some other events in the not-so-distant future, UFC Fight Night 243 already promises to be a lot of fun. Without a standout name on the card, the fighters who participate will have a unique chance to make a name for themselves. This is the best reason to make your early UFC picks before the odds start shifting. If you’re still undecided on who you want to cover, take a look at the scheduled card, and make your decision afterward.

UFC 305 Fight Card – Scheduled Bouts & Rumors

Posted on July 23, 2024 by A. J. Riot

UFC and Australia have a special bond. A type that needs to be reaffirmed from time to time. The time of confirmation has come and UFC 305 has a date and time set in stone. For all the fans from the Land Down Under August 18th is the day to be marked on the calendar and as many times before, and as it will be in the future the host city is Perth.

For people who keep an eye on UFC the last time the caravan was in Perth was an event to be remembered. You probably recall the amazing lightweight bout between Islam Makhachev and Alex Volkanovski. A Classic! The Australian fighter was inches away from becoming a two-division champion of the world. In one month, we can expect some other fighters to make a name for themselves, or for some stars of the past events to start shining once again.

If you haven’t been paying attention, the main and co-main events are already scheduled with a few more interesting fights. This is the right time to make your UFC picks for the 305 edition. Considering that there’s still plenty of time till the main event, some of the duels are confirmed while some interesting ones are still rumored. Let us start with the most interesting duel, and move on down the list.

UFC 304 – Everything to Know About Manchester Event

Posted on July 16, 2024 by A. J. Riot

After a long while, the UFC caravan is coming back to the UK with its 304 edition. Saturday, 27th of July is reserved for some massive showdowns at Co-op Live Arena in Manchester. The main stage is reserved for local fighters. As such, Leon Edwards and Tom Aspinall will have their chance to defend titles in front of the home crowd.

While Leon and Tom are in charge of the main and co-main event, other fighters are there to make this a full, and one of the best UFC events in recent memory. Among local heroes, the fans will have an opportunity to see Paddy Pimblett and Molly McCann fighting. The home for all of this fighting on British soil is Co-op Live Arena, and its 23 seated positions will have an opportunity to host a UFC event for the first time in its history.

What the crowd might not like, is the fact that the UFC 304 is scheduled to be an overnight event for the USA audience to have a go at the fights in primetime. For the fans of MMA in Europe, the main and co-main events are scheduled for Sunday morning. If you can recall, a similar situation happened in 2016 when Michael Bisping defended his title.

So, for all of you fans of Edwards and Aspinall, the night between Saturday and Sunday will be a long one, as fights will happen on early Sunday morning. Nonetheless, their respective bouts against Belal Muhammad and Curtis Blaydes will attract the attention of fans, not only in the arena but all across the world and we can’t hide the excitement any longer.

Legends of the Octagon: BJ Penn

Posted on July 13, 2024 by Heather

BJ Penn was born on December 13, 1978 in Hawaii. His ethnic background is Korean and Irish American. He is an extremely influential retired MMA fighter, who competed for the UFC in three divisions, including the achievements of being a welterweight and lightweight champion – the second fighter to reach double champion status in the UFC. He is a pioneer of the lighter weight classes in the UFC and is one of the first stars of the lightweight division.

Penn is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) prodigy and began practicing in 1997 under Ralph Gracie. Then, in 2000, he had made a phenomenal accomplishment by earning a black belt in BJJ.  This was astonishing; Penn had only practiced BJJ for three years. Typically, a talented BJJ practitioner can obtain a black belts within seven years. Soon after, BJ Penn became the first non-Brazilian to win the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship. This event was held in Brazil for first degree black belts. After years of practicing martial arts, Penn had leveled up to a fifth degree black belt in BJJ.

Highs and Lows: Famous MMA Fighters Who Have Tested Positive for Steroids

Posted on July 3, 2024 by A. J. Riot

Thus, performance-enhancing substances become a dark side of some of the most renowned mixed martial arts fighters, where each punch and each kick can define the course of a career. The desire for victory was the reason cutters successfully sought anabolic steroids, but these choices had terrible fates that changed their image and future for the worse. It exposes specific incidents of MMA fighters that have been caught taking steroids and outlines the developments that followed and their effects correspondingly on their careers and MMA in general.

Background on Steroid Use in MMA

Steroid abuse in MMA also started very early and has been a worrying aspect as MMA grew to be the sport that it is today. Initial complaints were hushed and covered up; however, as MMA increased in both recognition and organization, the requirement for a strict anti-ferment system emerged. The UFC and other organizations, such as the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA), have gone ahead and ensured that there is tough testing and there are serious repercussions for athletes who engage in drug use.

Steroids are man-made substances that are modeled on the looks and functioning of male androgen, known as testosterone. It could assist in attaining more muscle tissue growth, power, and sturdiness and, as such, appeal to athletes. However, having steroids has some adverse effects on body health since it affects the liver and hormones and is an originating factor in heart diseases. This means that conforming to steroid use is ridden with numerous risks, and most importantly, the ethical implications of getting an unfair ace means that steroid usage is a thorny subject in the sporting arena.
