UFC Freedom 250 is slated to go down next month, and with it, some of the most exciting and much-anticipated matchups fans have been clamoring for. Headlining this historic event, which is set to take place on the South Lawn of the White House, lightweight champion Ilia Topuria tries to defend his strap for the first time when he meets interim kingpin Justin Gaethje. Considered by some to be the best fighter in the world, Topuria returns after nearly a year off to showcase his abilities in his first bout of 2026. On the other end of the contest, Gaethje is endeavoring to have undisputed gold wrapped around his waist for the first time after almost ten years in the promotion.

UFC Fight Night 277 – Song vs. Figueiredo

Posted on May 19, 2026 by Vitaliy Vovk

May 30, 2026 | Galaxy Arena, Macau, China

[#7 FW | #5 UFC] Yadong Song (22-9-1) vs [#9 FW | #7 UFC] Deiveson Figueiredo (25-6-1)

At UFC Fight Night 277, rising Chinese contender Song Yadong faces former UFC flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo in a high-level featherweight clash with major ranking implications.

Song enters the bout as the younger, faster, and more volume-oriented striker. Fighting in China gives him a significant psychological and crowd advantage. Over the last several years, Song has developed into one of the UFC’s most dangerous pressure boxers at lighter weights, combining sharp combinations, strong takedown defense, and improving fight IQ. His ability to maintain pace over five rounds could become a major factor.

Figueiredo remains one of the most explosive and dangerous finishers in MMA. Despite moving up from flyweight, his counter-striking, power, guillotine threat, and veteran experience make him extremely dangerous early. However, durability and speed disadvantages against naturally larger featherweights may become visible as the fight progresses.

Netflix’s First MMA Night Delivered Violence, Nostalgia, and a Warning Shot to the Fight Business

Posted on May 18, 2026 by Andrew Carswell

Netflix’s first live MMA event did not arrive quietly. It arrived with a 17-second armbar, a bloody Nate Diaz stoppage, a Francis Ngannou knockout, a brutal reminder of heavyweight aging, countless celebrities and MMA royalty in attendance, and enough chaos to prove that MVP’s entry into mixed martial arts was never going to feel like a normal debut.

Inside the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles on Saturday night, MVP’s first MMA card promised spectacle, and in many ways, it delivered exactly that. The night was built around familiar names, comeback stories, and the idea that Netflix could turn MMA into something bigger than a traditional fight broadcast. Of course, there will always be criticism, but the event succeeded in one crucial way: people were watching, reacting, arguing, and sharing clips before the final interview ended.

Rousey, Carano, Ngannou, Diaz: Netflix’s MMA Debut Arrives With Star Power and Swagger

Posted on May 15, 2026 by Andrew Carswell

Inglewood, California – Most Valuable Promotions did not treat its first MMA press conference like a standard fight-week obligation. It treated it like a declaration.

Inside the Intuit Dome on Thursday night in Inglewood, California, MVP gathered 22 fighters, three headline attractions, and enough combat-sports history to make Saturday night feel less like a debut and more like an industry challenge. The message was clear from the opening moments: this is not just another fight card.

It is MVP’s first MMA event, Netflix’s first live MMA broadcast, and a direct attempt to place mixed martial arts in front of one of the largest entertainment audiences in the world. The event will stream globally on Netflix at no additional cost to the platform’s 325 million-plus members, a detail that gives this card a reach few combat sports events can match.

Song vs Figueiredo: A Title Shot on the Line in Macau?

Posted on May 14, 2026 by A. J. Riot

The Galaxy Arena in Macau will burst with action on May 30, 2026. UFC returns to China after two years of silence with UFC Fight Night 277: a bout between Song Yadong (#7) and Deiveson Figueiredo (#9). For Song, it’s a way to return to the bantamweight title queue after the loss to O’Malley. Figueiredo, the former two-time Flyweight champion, still aims to prove he’s worthy of the championship belt chase in a new division.

In this post, we’ll try to analyse the upcoming clash between Song and Figueiredo, considering their key stats and fighting style.

Have you ever found yourself confused by the rankings in combat sports?

Boxing has long struggled with ranking systems that seem arbitrary and inconsistent. This chaos not only affects fighters but also impacts fans’ trust in the sport. MMA, while still developing its own ranking system, can learn valuable lessons from boxing’s missteps.

Understanding these challenges can lead to a more credible and transparent environment for fighters and fans alike. Let’s explore how boxing’s ranking chaos can ultimately guide MMA to establish a more trustworthy framework.

Arnold Allen vs Melquizael Costa Preview

Posted on May 14, 2026 by Jack Latham

An intriguing encounter awaits at the Meta APEX this weekend as ‘Almighty’ Arnold Allen faces off against ‘The Dalmatian’ Melquizael Costa in the featherweight division.

BACKGROUND

After over a year out of the octagon, Arnold Allen returned in January on UFC 324, suffering a close decision loss at the hands of top contender Jean Silva.

He now makes a quick return at the Meta APEX, against the dangerous Melquizael Costa, who has won his last six fights.

Allen has been on the UFC roster since 2015, registering wins against Dan Hooker and Giga Chikadze along the way, making him a danger to anyone in the featherweight division.

A fight against Max Holloway and a close decision loss to Movsar Evloev gave Allen valuable experience that he hoped could take him to the next level.

As for Costa, the Brazilian has caught the attention of UFC fans with his high-pressure, high-volume style, which has led to him knocking out Morgan Charriere and submitting Andre Fili.

The Dalmatian’s most impressive victory came in February, though, as he finished Dan Ige with an eye-catching spinning back kick followed by some ground and pound.

With Allen looking to reignite his status as a featherweight contender, and Costa aiming to increase his winning streak, a great fight awaits.

But only one man can come out on top… Keep Reading

UFC 328: Sean Strickland Stuns Khamzat Chimaev — What’s Next for Both?

Sean Strickland pulled off one of the greatest upsets in recent memory as he stunned the formerly unbeaten Khamzat Chimaev to claim the UFC Middleweight Championship at UFC 328 in Newark on May 9th. The brash American was a 4/1 underdog when he made his way to the Octagon, and when the Chechen began with wrestling dominance in round one, it appeared as though it would be business as usual for the defending champion. Then, the California native flipped the script.

UFC’s Polymarket Deal Adds a New Layer to Fight Analysis

Posted on May 12, 2026 by A. J. Riot

UFC’s partnership with Polymarket is not just another sponsorship deal. It signals that prediction markets are moving closer to the live fight experience, where fan sentiment, probability shifts and real-time market reactions may become part of how bouts are discussed.

TKO announced Polymarket as the official and exclusive prediction market partner of UFC and Zuffa Boxing, describing the deal as the first integration of prediction market technology directly into the live fan experience. The partnership is expected to include activations across live events, broadcasts and digital content.

How MMA Fighters Are Building Wealth Beyond Fight Purses

Posted on May 11, 2026 by A. J. Riot

The average UFC fighter earns between $152,000 and $228,000 per year. With most fighters competing only two or three times a year, that’s about $50,000 per fight.

Entry-level fighters get paid a lot less. Sometimes, they get as little as $12,000 to $20,000 to show up. And that’s why the UFC had to pay out a $335 million class-action settlement in 2024 over fighter pay suppression.

Yet despite this, it’s safe to say that some UFC fighters get paid well. Conor McGregor, for example, has a net worth of $200 million. Khabib Nurmagomedov is at $40 million. Israel Adesanya, Jon Jones, and Alex Pereira have also built great wealth.

But how? Well, they’ve been building wealth outside of their fight purses. They’ve used their fighting career as momentum for business ventures. That’s where the real money is made for MMA fighters.

Stake Sizing for the Casual UFC Bettor: Why Discipline Beats Picks in UFC Betting

Posted on May 8, 2026 by A. J. Riot

source

When Chimaev and Strickland were announced as the headline for UFC 328, thousands of casual fans logged into a sportsbook for the first time all year.

Many of them will end up on the losing side sooner or later.

The 96% Problem

Here’s the number that should set the tone for every wager you place: a 2025 UCSD/SMU/Maryland study of 717,724 US gamblers found 96% lost money over a five-year window from 2019 to 2023. Only 4% withdrew more than they deposited. That sample isn’t degens or whales – it’s regular bettors. Casuals.

Tools like ClearCasinos’ responsible gambling calculator exist for exactly this reason – to model what your bankroll actually survives at different stake sizes before you fire on a card.

For MMA fans, this hits harder than it does for NFL bettors. Fight cards run weekly. Each card has 10–13 fights. The temptation to fire on every prelim, fire a main-card parlay, and chase a bad start with a live bet on the co-main is enormous. The volume alone grinds most bankrolls into dust.

Chaos, Threats, and Near Violence: UFC 328 Press Conference Goes Off The Rails

Posted on May 8, 2026 by Andrew Carswell

The UFC has promoted heated rivalries before. It has built entire pay-per-views around personal hatred, emotional instability, and the promise that two men genuinely want to hurt one another.

But, the UFC 328 press conference in Newark felt different, from the very moment it began.

At the center of the chaos stood Sean Strickland (30-7-0) and Khamzat Chimaev (15-0-0), two fighters who spent nearly the entire press conference interrupting, insulting, and daring one another to escalate things further. At the conclusion, the event eventually turned physical when Chimaev kicked Strickland during the final faceoff, forcing security to intervene as the stage descended into disorder.
