Anthony Hernandez vs Gregory Rodrigues: What The Betting Says

Posted on August 17, 2026 by A. J. Riot

UFC Fight Night makes its return to Sacramento on August 22, and the promotion has handed the city a main event that carries real title eliminator implications. Anthony Hernandez, the No. 7-ranked middleweight, takes on No. 10-ranked Gregory Rodrigues at Golden 1 Center in what will be the UFC’s first visit to the city since 2019. Both men come into this one with a point to prove.

Hernandez arrives with a 15-3 record that has been built on relentless wrestling and suffocating top pressure, though he’s coming off a setback rather than a win streak. His last outing ended in a TKO defeat at the hands of middleweight champion Sean Strickland, ending an eight-fight winning run that included six finishes. Rodrigues, at 19-6, brings quite the opposite skill set. He’s got heavy hands and a reputation for being one of the division’s most dangerous finishers.

Mackenzie Dern vs Gillian Robertson: Preview

Posted on August 14, 2026 by Heather

[#2 W115] US Mackenzie Dern (C) defends her strawweight title against [#5 W115] CA Gillian Robertson this Saturday, Aug 15, at UFC 330. Here’s the case for Robertson, based on how analysts and Robertson herself have broken down the matchup:

Dern’s Vulnerabilities

Weak takedown defense: one analyst pegs it at just 38%, meaning Robertson doesn’t need elite wrestling to get this fight to the mat.

Inconsistent takedowns of her own – Robertson has pointed out Dern “doesn’t have a great ability to take it to the ground,” saying Dern’s shot is just okay and she relies mainly on a lateral hip throw.

This Week’s WHR Bets/Parlays (2026/#25)

Posted on August 13, 2026 by Jason

Still trying to get out of this hole…

Fights considered must satisfy all of the criteria below:

  • Both fighters must be active (fought in 360 days prior to event).  Reduces uncertainty.
  • Both fighters must have at least 7 fights in the prior 7 years, including 1+ loss.  If the loss was in their debut, then 2+ losses are required.
  • Both fighters must be rated in the same division as the fight.  Further reduces uncertainty.
  • Must have odds from at least three bookmakers.

Nurmagomedov vs. Song Headlines a Loaded Late August

Posted on August 12, 2026 by A. J. Riot

Can a Fight Night card without a numbered pay-per-view banner still generate the kind of buzz usually reserved for a title night? The answer arrives on August 29, 2026, when Umar Nurmagomedov meets Song Yadong in a bantamweight main event that ranking-watchers have already circled. On paper it’s a Fight Night. In practice, it carries the weight of a division realignment, with two top-ten fighters colliding just as the 135-pound picture gets crowded again. The storylines run deep, the stat sheets are fascinating, and the anticipation is climbing well before fight week even opens.

UFC 331 Rematch Puts Flyweight on the Line

Posted on August 12, 2026 by A. J. Riot

Can a fighter step into a title rematch, having already tasted defeat, and walk out with the belt? That question hangs over Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on September 19, when UFC 331 delivers a flyweight main event built on unfinished business. Alexandre Pantoja and Joshua Van are set to run it back, and for the ranking-obsessed corner of the MMA world, this is the kind of matchup that reshapes a division’s entire top ten in a single night. The 125-pound weight class has been one of the sport’s most quietly compelling stories all year, and the rematch angle only sharpens the stakes.

Makhachev vs. Machado Garry Headlines UFC 330

Posted on August 12, 2026 by A. J. Riot

UFC 330 lands at Xfinity Mobile Arena on August 15, and the headline says it all: Islam Makhachev meets Ian Machado Garry in a matchup that has the ranking-obsessed corner of the MMA world buzzing. It is the kind of card that sends fans straight to the divisional standings, arguing over pound-for-pound placements and poring over control-time splits and takedown accuracy. For anyone who tracks a fighter’s win-loss column with the same care others reserve for their fantasy rosters, this is the main event of the late summer — a clash of a grappling technician against an undefeated welterweight who swears the rankings have him pegged too low.

Noche UFC Brings Its Fiesta to Arizona

Posted on August 12, 2026 by A. J. Riot

Why does one September fight card feel less like a sporting event and more like a citywide celebration? The answer arrives September 12, 2026, when Noche UFC: Rodriguez vs. Silva touches down at Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. This is the promotion’s annual salute to Mexican Independence Day weekend, and it carries a different kind of charge than a standard Fight Night. The walkouts hit harder, the crowd sings louder, and the fighter journeys behind each name feel personal in a way that keeps hardcore followers glued to their seats. For fans who track divisional rankings and dissect matchup metrics all year, Noche is where the numbers meet the noise. And when a card like this rolls around, plenty of viewers start mapping out how they’ll follow every second of the action.

Medić vs. Rodriguez Odds, Form and UFC Belgrade Preview

Posted on July 28, 2026 by A. J. Riot

The UFC has been to London, Paris, Stockholm, Prague and several other European cities. On August 1, it finally comes to Belgrade, Serbia.

Uroš Medić returns to Serbia on a three fight knockout streak, but Daniel Rodriguez has the experience and durability to turn a historic homecoming into a long, difficult night.

Medić vs. Rodriguez will take place at Belgrade Arena, marking the promotion’s first event in the country. It’s a major night for Serbian MMA, but the UFC isn’t bringing only a ceremonial main event designed to give the home crowd something to celebrate. Uroš Medić has been matched with a dangerous, experienced opponent who has spent most of his UFC career fighting at a high level.

Medić enters with a 13-3 record, while Daniel Rodriguez arrives with a 20-5 record. Medić has a place in the welterweight rankings and three consecutive first round knockouts. Rodriguez may not have Medić’s recent collection of quick finishes, but he has beaten Kevin Holland, Santiago Ponzinibbio, Li Jingliang, Kevin Lee and Mike Perry.

Medić is younger, faster and far more dangerous in the opening exchanges. Rodriguez is more experienced in longer fights and comfortable working through difficult rounds.

The UFC’s First Trip to Serbia Is Long Overdue

Serbia has had successful MMA fighters, regional promotions and a committed combat sports audience for years. What it has never had is a UFC event of its own. That changes when the doors open at Belgrade Arena on Saturday, August 1st. A UFC cage in the middle of the building will offer something completely different, particularly once the crowd begins reacting to the Serbian fighter.

The timing could hardly be better. Had this event arrived two years earlier, Medić would’ve been an exciting but uncertain home fighter. Now, he enters the arena as a ranked welterweight.

The entire card is scheduled to stream on Paramount+ in the United States at 10 AM ET, with the main fight beginning at 4 PM ET.

What Makes Medić Dangerous?

Medić is 6 feet 1 inch tall and fights from a southpaw stance. He uses his length well, but his style is not based on standing at range and collecting points cautiously.

The Neal knockout showed how little space he needs. Medić didn’t load up with an obvious swing. He allowed Neal to enter his range, turned into the punch and landed cleanly. The accuracy gave Neal almost no chance to recover. UFC statistics list Medić at 5.59 significant strikes landed per minute with 60% accuracy. Those numbers also explain why he’s likely to attract plenty of attention in the UFC betting markets on Stake.com.

His striking defence has also improved. He still takes risks, but he appears more comfortable remaining in position after throwing instead of rushing forward. Confidence is clearly helping. Three straight first round knockouts can change the way a fighter approaches the opening bell. Medić now enters expecting his power to work against ranked opposition.

Five Rounds Give Medić a New Problem

Medić has never competed in a five round UFC fight. His current streak lasted a little more than three minutes in total. He didn’t need to manage his pace, make adjustments between rounds or continue attacking after ten or fifteen minutes of resistance. A main event can ask for all of those things.

Nobody doubts Medić’s ability to hurt Rodriguez early. The more difficult question is whether he can remain effective if Rodriguez absorbs the first attack.

Throwing every strike with maximum power is manageable when a fight ends in under a minute. It becomes much harder when the opponent is still in front of you after three rounds.

Rodriguez Is Coming in With Three Straight Wins

Rodriguez’s third round TKO of Santiago Ponzinibbio was a major part of his return to form. Later, Rodriguez defeated Kevin Holland by unanimous decision in July 2025, so he’s entering UFC Belgrade on a three fight winning streak, having beaten Alex Morono, Ponzinibbio and Holland.

Before his comeback, Rodriguez had the worst run of his UFC career. He lost a close split decision to Neil Magny in 2022 before suffering stoppage defeats against Ian Machado Garry and Kelvin Gastelum. The Garry fight lasted less than three minutes, while Gastelum knocked him out in the opening round.

At 37 years old, with three consecutive defeats behind him, Rodriguez appeared to be fading at the UFC stage. He changed that by returning to the basics. He now arrives in Serbia at 20-5 with three victories in a row and no reason to feel like a convenient opponent for the local favorite.

Medić vs. Rodriguez May Be Decided in the First Ten Minutes

The opening round should tell us plenty. Medić is likely to take the center quickly. He will want Rodriguez moving backward, where it becomes harder for the American to set his feet and build combinations.

Kicks to the body and legs could help Medić establish the distance. Once Rodriguez begins reacting to those attacks, Medić can look for the straight left.

Rodriguez can’t simply retreat toward the fence and wait for Medić to slow down. He needs to interrupt him.

A stiff jab can force Medić to reset. A short combination followed by lateral movement can prevent him from planting his feet. Rodriguez may also use the clinch to break up the striking exchanges, even if he’s not looking for takedowns.

The second round could be the turning point. If Medić is still landing the harder shots without wasting energy, Rodriguez may struggle to find any route into the fight. If Medić begins breathing heavily or chasing attacks, Rodriguez’s volume can start to take over.

Can Rodriguez Survive the First Round?

Rodriguez has been knocked out twice in his UFC career, and both defeats came in the first round. That could be a factor against a fighter who has just recorded three consecutive first round stoppages.

Medić doesn’t need to land many clean punches. Rodriguez may absorb strikes well during long combinations, but a perfectly timed counter is different from accumulated damage.

His defensive position after throwing will be crucial. Rodriguez sometimes remains in range after completing a combination, either because he wants to continue attacking or because he expects his opponent to retreat. Medić is unlikely to give him that. He will look to fire between Rodriguez’s punches or catch him as he finishes.

Rodriguez must also be careful with predictable entries. Reaching with the jab from too far away could bring him directly onto Medić’s right hook. The veteran has enough skill to avoid those mistakes, but doing so for five rounds is demanding. He may need to accept a lower output early and gradually increase his pressure as Medić’s speed begins to drop.

The Home Crowd Is an Advantage

Medić will receive one of the loudest welcomes of any fighter competing in the 2026 UFC. Fighting at home can remove the stress of travelling and give an athlete extra confidence. It can also create pressure.

Medić knows that thousands of people will watch, expecting him to deliver the defining moment of the UFC’s first night in Serbia. Many will be expecting another knockout.

Rodriguez doesn’t carry any of those responsibilities. He can walk into the arena knowing the crowd is against him and treat the evening as a professional assignment. The American may even benefit if the atmosphere pushes Medić into a rushed start.

Medić’s job is to use the crowd without trying to entertain it. He doesn’t need to finish Rodriguez in the first round to make UFC Belgrade a successful homecoming. Winning is enough.

The Odds Reflect Medić’s Momentum

Odds for the card are already live on UFC Fight Night odds. Medić is expected to enter as the betting favorite, which is fair given the location, age difference and recent knockout run.

As far as betting markets, we can see a wide range of prices. Medić is listed anywhere from approximately -190 to shorter than -350. That difference is too large to ignore and shows why bettors should check the live market closer to the fight rather than relying on an early number. At -190, Medić’s probability of winning is roughly 65.5%. At -350, that rises to approximately 77.8%. Those are very different bets.

The shorter price asks bettors to trust that Medić’s speed and power will decide the matchup before Rodriguez can use his experience. A more moderate price leaves greater room for the uncertainties surrounding Medić’s first five round fight.

Rodriguez is likely to attract interest as the underdog because of his experience, volume and three fight winning streak. His strongest argument is based on duration. If he survives the first two rounds, the match may become much closer than the opening odds suggest.

Method of victory markets may also be more appealing than simply selecting a winner. Medić by knockout follows the clearest evidence from his recent form, while Rodriguez by decision suits the kind of patient, high output fight he is likely to need.

Markets can also move quickly during fight week, especially after the official weigh-ins. Fans can visit Stake.com closer to the event to check the current moneyline, method of victory prices, round markets and other available UFC picks.

A Medić Win Could Set Up a Bigger Ranked Fight

A fourth consecutive victory would move Medić closer to the top ten of the welterweight division. Another early knockout would make him particularly difficult to ignore. Stopping Urbina and Salikhov was impressive, but knocking out Neal gave the streak real credibility. Doing the same to Rodriguez in a five round main event would strengthen the argument that Medić is ready for a higher ranked opponent.

A longer victory would also come with great prospects. If Medić can stay effective beyond the second round, manage his energy and adjust his approach, he’ll prove that he’s more than just an early knockout threat.

Either result would give the UFC several options. A match with another ranked welterweight could follow, potentially against someone sitting just outside the title picture.

For Serbian fans, the immediate result would be simpler. Their home fighter would’ve won the main event on the UFC’s first visit to the country.

Rodriguez Can Ruin the Homecoming and Re-enter the Rankings

Rodriguez has just as much to gain. He will be 39 by fight night, so every result now has a greater effect on what comes next. He doesn’t have several years to slowly build another run toward the rankings.

Beating Medić would give him four straight victories and a win over a ranked opponent on his home turf. It could return him to the top 15 and earn him one more major fight before the end of the year.

Rodriguez is not coming to Belgrade only to test Medić’s potential. He’s trying to extend his own career to the highest level. His route is difficult but realistic. Survive the early attacks, force Medić to fight longer than usual and turn the contest into a test of consistency rather than explosive power. That may not please the crowd, but Rodriguez has no obligation or reason to give them the night they expect.

UFC Belgrade Has More Than History Behind It

The first UFC event in Serbia would be significant regardless of the main event. Medić vs. Rodriguez gives it a fight that deserves attention on its own.

Medić is in the best form of his career. He has stopped three opponents in the first round, broken into the rankings and now gets to headline at home.

Rodriguez has rebuilt his career with three straight wins and brings the experience needed to test every part of Medić’s recent improvement.

Medić wants to start quickly, land cleanly and create another finish. Rodriguez wants to remain calm, extend the fight and make the home favorite prove that his game still works after the early speed has faded. One man has the more dangerous opening. The other has spent far more time fighting through difficult rounds.

On August 1st, the UFC finally arrives in Serbia after decades of anticipation. By the time the main event begins, Belgrade Arena should be ready for the kind of reception Medić has imagined for years. He still has to beat Daniel Rodriguez to complete the homecoming. A win would also show that the pressure of fighting in his home country doesn’t affect his focus or push him into taking unnecessary risks.
