PFL Africa event to take place on July 26
After years in the making, the PFL has finally confirmed that the date and place have been set for their big event that’s going to take place on July 26 in Cape Town. Global MMA fans will not have to worry about the event’s location, as this doesn’t mean they won’t get a chance to see and bet on their favorites – quite the contrary.
The event will be broadcast live by many stations, and numerous sportsbooks will cover the matches, giving fans a chance to wager on their favorite fighters. Whether that’s Dakota Ditcheva or some other male or female fighter, the best New Mexico sports betting sites, along with other offshore betting apps, will give you direct access to the best matches of the season.
It will be up to the bettor to decide whether they want to try out their luck in the middleweight title action or in one of the many eight-man tournaments that are set to launch this year.
Out of all the matches that will be played during the event, the one featuring Dakota Ditcheva is expected to make headlines. Apart from being last year’s PFL Global tournament winner, who took home $1 million, this is also going to be her fight since then. Her opponent in this year’s event is going to be Bellator veteran Sumiko Inaba.
Coming from Manchester, England, Ditcheva has some impressive career statistics that have righteously earned her the nickname ‘Dangerous’. This professional MMA fighter is still undefeated, with 14 victories under her belt. Out of the 14 fights, 12 have been by knockout and only 1 by submission, making her a force to be reckoned with.
On the other hand, Sumiko Inaba has less impressive career stats, although still great. She has won 8 fights so far, and only lost one. Coming from Hawaii, Inaba has had a very successful amateur career, after which she signed on with Bellator. Currently, she’s #54th ranked Top Women Flyweight fighter.
The career statistics of these two women promise that the fight in front is going to be glorious, precisely why it’s expected that the match will be one of the focal points of the entire event.
Other fights pending
The entire PFL Africa event is going to feature interesting fights in different categories. For starters, Jashell Ticha Awa of Cameroon will face South Africa’s Justin Clarke in one of the most interesting categories – the heavyweight division, with a fight outcome percentage of 49.2%. Another match in the same division that’s expected to draw plenty of attention is the one between Senegal’s Abdoullah Kane and Morocco’s Mohammad Ben Yahia.
Another category expected to garner some interesting fights is the bantamweight division, where Nkosi Ndebele from South Africa will face Mahmoud Atef from Egypt. The final fight in the division that has been confirmed up until now is the one featuring Zimbabwe’s Simbarashe Hokonya and Morocco’s Abderrahman Errachidy.
The PFL (Professional Fighters League) undoubtedly has an interesting season scheduled. Their exhilarating fights are the reason why PFL has become one of the fastest-growing sports leagues in the world. Fans aren’t the only ones benefiting from the league’s superb games, as fighters stand to gain substantial prizes in the event of a victory.
Championship-level fighters, for example, can earn anywhere from $500,000 to millions of dollars per fight, whereas bottom-tier fighters can make as little as $10,000 per match. Still, that doesn’t stop them from participating, as even showing up in a PFL event comes with a lot of publicity and media recognition.
Francis Ngannou to head the PFL event
The one set to bring the PFL Africa to life is Francis Ngannou, who will be the Chairman. He is at the forefront of the project, alongside CEO Peter Murray and Elias Schulze from Helios Sports & Entertainment Group. The Group helped NBA Africa flourish, so they are expected to do just as well with the PFL Africa event.
The CEO, Peter Murray, made a statement, saying that the launch of PFL Africa reflects their intention to help MMA reach its full potential as a sport throughout the continent, which should help African fighters become household names on the global stage.
The bottom line
All those interested in watching the PFL Africa event unfold will be able to do so by joining in through big screens. They’ll be able to watch live as some of the world’s best MMA fighters compete for big prizes, incredible titles, and immense popularity.
