Exclusive Interview with Caged Steel Bantamweight Champion, Adam Bramhald

Posted on October 29, 2024 by Heather

Introduction

On December 7th, 2024, Caged Steel presents Caged Steel 38 in Doncaster UK, an exciting event featuring professional and amateur MMA fights, as well as caged boxing bouts. The main event will feature [#488 BW] (C) Adam ‘Samurai’ Bramhald defending his Bantamweight title against Altamiro de Jesus Pereira.

Adam Bramhald is a 30-year-old English fighter and a veteran of the Dana White’s Contender Series, who trains at the Asylum Vale Tudo MMA gym. He is ranked as #15 Bantamweight in the UK. Adam holds a professional MMA record of 13-3-0.

Q&A

FightMatrix: Tell us about your childhood and upbringing; how did you first get involved with martial arts?

Adam Bramhald: I was just your average child, I grew up playing with swords and bows and arrows, wrestling with my brother, dipping in any sport I could. My dad was a pro boxer so I had martial arts around me but didn’t start until I was at college which was just by chance that my friend was going and asked me to go with him.

FM: What led you to a career as a professional MMA fighter?

AB: I take things one goal at a time, after winning amateur titles and believing that I was actually good at it the pro route became a realistic goal.

FM: Who do you consider the greatest MMA fighter of all time, and why?

AB: Jon Jones for me on pure ability and skillset, along side an unbelievable record of opponents.

FM: Who is your biggest inspiration in life?

AB: I’m most inspired by everyday people who live a healthy lifestyle, dragging themselves to the gym, trying to eat well or going to classes and running, all in the hope of having a better day, or improving themselves physically and mentally. These people inspire me, it’s my job to get up and go to the gym at 5:30am every day, it isn’t theirs. It gives me incredible motivation and inspiration.

FM: Who has been your toughest opponent to date?

AB: A tricky one to answer, the one who gave me the most to do was Konstantin Enev as he gave me nerve damage in my leg in the first 15 seconds that took some getting through!

FM: What is the proudest moment in your professional MMA career?

AB: Getting to fly to Las Vegas and represent my home from the other side of the world. I’m from a small farming village which made it feel like a major achievement.

FM: What are your short-term and long-term career goals?

AB: Short term: win this fight, and win it well.
Long term: my only goal in the sport for the long term is to fight in the UFC, and to win one fight there. I would be very happy with my career if I could achieve that and it’s been my goal all along.

FM: What is your prediction for your fight with Altamiro de Jesus Pereira at Caged Steel 38?

AB: I’m expecting a tough fight that will take a lot of skill and intelligence, I’ll be looking to get the finish later on in the fight as I always do. Either way losing isn’t an option.

FM: How has your fight camp been going in preparation for this fight?

AB: Great, I’m motivated and ramping up my training to be the best version of myself on the night to keep my belt and get myself back to where I belong.

Conclusion

The main event title bout between Adam Bramhald and Altamiro de Jesus promises to be an exciting one. Will Adam succesfully defend his title, and advance in his goal to one day making it into the UFC?
