Weak means less fighters and less bouts in recent years… Really doesn’t matter if a division recently explodes, what matters most are the years leading up to the current.

    • Ked Becker says:

      What does “weak” mean?
Is it because Flyweight has less ranked fighters than other divisions so it’s considered weak?

    • jcs says:

      Flyweight is weak.

It is surprising that DJ’s proportional point difference from the other guys in his division is less than that of Miocic when he had beat and finished top 10 guys for the last 10 fights, while Miocic doesn’t have an equally comparable record

DD is all about proportional point differences..

Without getting too deep into the math… DJ only has about 4x the points of #10.

      Miocic is nearly 6x.

Since Demetrious Johnson was not so successful in Bantamweight but is way ahead of anybody else in his own division (including stoppages of the fighters closest to him in the rankings), and since the Division Dominance list description explains that “While a pound-for-pound list factors in divisional tenure and the ability to transcend weight divisions while remaining successful, this list does not” and that “This is done by averaging the point level of divisional contenders, then comparing this average to the fighter’s current point level”, I would have expected to see DJ ranked higher up on the Division Dominance list than on the Pound-for-Pound list. yet he is ranked #1 on the Pound-for-Pound list and only #4 on the Division Dominance list

Before asking where a specific fighter is ranked or why they aren't ranked:

    - We update the rankings once per week, usually on Sunday or Monday.

    - Fighters who have not fought in 450 days or more ARE NOT RANKED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

    - Use the "Fighter Search" option in the upper-right of the page. The fighter may be ranked in a different division.

    - Most of the divisions have multiple pages beyond this one. See the clickable ranges above and below the ranking table.

Furthermore, we do not maintain the "next fight" data. This is gathered from Sherdog. Any issues regarding this data should be forwarded to them.
