We did a post back in September, on the Average ranked height at each weight division.

It’s probably “too soon” to start tracking trends, but I thought I would give it a shot, to see if the UFC’s involvement of smaller divisions is causing them to get “bigger”.  We will also add in the new Strawweight division.

So, it may have been too soon to take a second look at this.  Since September, we don’t see much consistent movement either way between the average top 50 height.  The most interesting thing in this table is that there is a 5’0″ Lightweight out there!

I find it hard to believe that Struve is still growing at 24, especially at such a significant rate. I think there’s some fudging here on the UFC’s part… I remember them over-reporting Shane Carwin’s height, as confirmed by Carwin himself. I also think they may have listed several different numbers for Anderson Silva through his UFC career (though I might be wrong about that).

In each of his past two fights — they claim he grew an additional half inch…. so it would seem someone is keeping close tabs on it.

Gilberto Aguilar is the Muggsy Bogues of MMA I guess.

Is Struve truly 7 feet tall, or does the UFC exhagerrate these numbers?

Before asking where a specific fighter is ranked or why they aren't ranked:

- We update the rankings once per week, usually on Sunday or Monday.

- Fighters who have not fought in 450 days or more ARE NOT RANKED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

- Use the "Fighter Search" option in the upper-right of the page. The fighter may be ranked in a different division.

- Most of the divisions have multiple pages beyond this one. See the clickable ranges above and below the ranking table.

Furthermore, we do not maintain the "next fight" data. This is gathered from Sherdog. Any issues regarding this data should be forwarded to them.
