How Spotify Saved The Music Industry

Posted on July 29, 2022 by A. J. Riot

The music industry had enjoyed success that was unrivaled by other industries, each year, growth was guaranteed. Sales of vinyl and CDs were booming, and artists and record labels were reaping the benefits. Then there was a shift in the way people were listening to music, peer-to-peer file sharing. Music was no longer a physical commodity. It was digital and in the “clouds,” and within a very short space of time, the music industry would halve its revenue, from $14.6 billion in earnings in 1999 to $6.7 billion in 2014.

With the growth of sound files flooding the web, it seemed like music was free for everybody. Some artists condoned sites like Napster and Limewire sharing their music for free, but the music industry, on the whole, was not impressed. Something needed to be done to tackle the rampant piracy that was now threatening the music industry. While advances in technology were the primary catalyst in the declining growth, technology would also be the solution to repairing the damage that had already been done.

What To Do In Preparation For Watching Your First MMA Fight With Friends

Posted on July 28, 2022 by A. J. Riot

Watching any sport you aren’t familiar with can feel like a chore, and we can often dread these events. It’s not pleasant knowing you’re going to be surrounded by people throwing around jargon specific to that sport, discussing past events, and even worse, asking you questions to which you don’t know the answer. You can do a few things to reduce the stress of times like this. In turn, these steps might also help you get into MMA itself too, making future events with your friends something to look forward to instead. It should be noted that MMA is a very intricate sport and can be incredibly exciting and fun to watch, no matter your level of knowledge of the sport. To help with your first viewing session, however, we’ve put together some steps to help you prepare and have the best time possible.

Know Who Is Fighting
Your first step is to get a good idea of which fighters you will watch. There are many MMA fighters in many different competitions across the world. There are plenty of local competitions with amateur fighters, which you’ll likely only see in person. Paddy Pimblett: Media Star or Serious MMA Fighter?

Posted on July 26, 2022 by A. J. Riot

It’s rare for any MMA fighter to make headlines outside of the field of combat. The likes of Conor McGregor may be more ‘notorious’ for their exploits away from the sport but he is an exception that tends to prove the rule.

In certain other combat sports, there can be something of a showbusiness element but serious fight fans like to see it removed from Mixed Martial Arts. That may be why opinion is so divided when it comes to Paddy Pimblett. The Englishman is making a name for himself for a number of reasons but is he just a sideshow or does he have a seriously successful career ahead of him in the Octagon?

Pimblett in Numbers

Victory over Jordan Leavitt in July 2022 was Pimblett’s 19th win as a professional MMA fighter. The man known as Paddy the Baddy has three defeats to add to his overall record of 19-3 from 22 contests.

With a solid early record, Ultimate Fighting Championship felt that Paddy Pimblett was a perfect fit for the biggest organization within the sport.

Three impressive victories have followed and the future for Pimblett is a bright one. If he can stay on top of his game, shots at championship titles will surely follow. Despite all this, his nudge towards celebrity status means that the jury is out in regards to his true fighting worth.

Opinion Divided

Paddy Pimblett has a respectable record at this early stage of his career but not everyone is convinced about his fighting ability. Muhammad Mokaev, who was on the same bill as the Englishman in London, said that he didn’t think Pimblett was a great role model for the sport.

Mokaev went on to talk about several other fighters who he felt deserved more column inches than the Liverpudlian. Due to his antics both inside and outside of the Octagon, he even went on to liken Pimblett to an animal.

The Cult of Personality

Over in the UK, sportsmen and sportswomen are in contention for a rather unusual honor at the end of each calendar year. Main broadcasters BBC host a Sports Personality of the Year show to reward the great and the good of British sport.

The show goes out in December but betting markets are already in place for the 2022 edition. Odds are slow to come through at the moment but the best betting sites in Poland are among those who have already declared and they put record-equalling World Snooker Champion Ronnie O’Sullivan as the clear favorite.

Others in contention include England’s soccer captain Harry Kane and Matt Fitzpatrick, the golfer who won his first Major at the 2022 US Open.

Down among the outsiders is Paddy Pimblett. At odds of around 80/1, he is unlikely to win the BBC Sports Personality of the Year award but the fact that an MMA fighter is even mentioned in this market is a serious endorsement of his high profile.

Anyone who is interested in following this market can track the odds which are supplied via sources linked to Sbo.net. In the weeks leading up to the broadcast, the prices are subject to change and any updates will be reflected on the website.

While assessing the numbers, readers can also take into account any news posts that appear. Sbo.net also review all of their linked sportsbooks and it’s possible to get directly involved with the markets. Anyone can sign up and look to take advantage of a generous welcome package.

A range of funding options gets the account moving while other benefits may include mobile betting and access to live streaming of top sporting events.

What next for Paddy Pimblett?

With his shock of blonde hair, there is a resemblance to a contestant from a reality TV Show but it would be unfair to suggest that he’s just a mere sideshow. He can, of course, use his profile to do good, as evidenced by his speech about mental health awareness after the Leavitt bout.

Whatever happens, Paddy Pimblett will be an important figure for UFC moving forward and he’s starting to make waves in his native England where MMA is yet to fully take off. He divides opinion but he has an impressive fighting record that demands respect.

How to Find Good Props on UFC Fights

Posted on July 22, 2022 by A. J. Riot

Betting a UFC fight straight up can be a tough task to find value. The best fighters will usually cost a pretty penny to bet straight up. And it’s not like the NFL, where finding a good point spread can lower the juice on a bet.

However, one nice thing about fights, and the sportsbooks that post odds on them, is that there are many different ways to bet on a fight. Looking at the data available by weight class can help provide a better window on where to get the best odds. While weird things can happen, looking at the percentages gives an idea of where to start with doing research.

Which is Better to Watch: MMA or Boxing?

Posted on July 22, 2022 by A. J. Riot

Mixed martial arts gave the combat sports scene a major shot in the arm when it emerged in the mid-1990s. Boxing, which had long ruled the fighting landscape, would mostly dismiss its more brutal counterpart until the UFC was able to establish itself as a legitimate organization. Since MMA has emerged past its “human cockfighting” origins and developed into a more established sport, its popularity has grown.

But much like with anyone making Premier League predictions, there is plenty of debate about whether MMA has passed up the “Sweet Science” as a more watchable combat sport than boxing. While both sports are full of their characters and personalities, MMA has one edge over boxing that helps make things a little bit more entertaining. The MMA world is ruled by a monopoly, the UFC, that helps bring the best competitors together. There are external forces that have crippled boxing.

Here’s what makes MMA better to watch than boxing.

The Notorious vs. Diablo 2

Posted on July 22, 2022 by A. J. Riot

The Prequel

Nate Diaz 1, Conor McGregor 0. After a brutal second round and eventual rear-naked choke by Nate Diaz, McGregor had received his first ever UFC loss. This fight at welterweight was Conor’s first in this weight class. His breathing rapidly got more intense as the first round ended. This main event was the complete opposite of what all watchers expected and what McGregor had trained so hard for.

It was clear that these two had to be in the cage together again. They brought so much publicity and so much ferocity that made it one hell of a rivalry. McGregor had things to take away from the fight and so did Diaz. McGregor needed to hold on to the weight to stay at 170 but he also needed to heavily improve his cardio. He needed to be able to last 25 minutes with Diaz. Meanwhile, Diaz needed to prepare better for McGregor’s strikes. Diaz left the first round with a face full of blood and was in a world of danger until he struck Conor down and eventually choked him. Diaz betters at the best online casino cashed in on the +340 odds for him to win.

Best Fighters In The UFC

Posted on July 22, 2022 by A. J. Riot

Since Amanda Nunes was upset last December, the UFC has gone seven months without having a fighter who is the champion in two weight classes. However, that doesn’t mean the promotion’s roster is without top-level fighters. Many of the current champions in the promotion are having some of the most dominant runs in the company’s short history.

Like with NFL stats, fighters who are able to accumulate impressive wins against top competition quickly raise their profile. With that in mind, let’s take a look at the top five fighters in the UFC right now.
