Press Release
The World Boxing Union (WBU) is expanding its scope and will now officially organize and sanction bare-knuckle fights. With a clear set of rules, the highest medical standards, and internationally consistent guidelines, the WBU emphasizes professionalism, safety, and transparency.
Worldwide operations will be overseen by Scott Dixon, while Ralf-Peter Frohn-Lux and Marco Sachon will serve as the official contact for Germany, providing direct access to the WBU and its bare-knuckle activities.
This step continues the WBU’s long-standing tradition in professional boxing while creating a new platform for athletes to compete in the sport’s purest form—under clear and fair regulations.
“Bare-knuckle is the most authentic form of boxing. With the WBU, we provide a professional home for this sport that protects athletes while delivering thrilling fights for fans,” says Scott Dixon.
The first events are already being planned and promise to take bare-knuckle boxing to a whole new level.
