UFC CEO Dana White has confirmed that the White House will host a future Fight Night, with a potential date being set for July 4th next year, which will mark the 250th anniversary of the United States’ Independence.
The event could well take place on the South Lawn at the White House, which can apparently host as many as 25,000 spectators, but one wonders whether such a large gathering would be allowed in, given the security implications of such a crowd.
White enjoys a good relationship with US President Donald Trump, and such an occasion helps both their causes. On the one hand, it helps Trump garner support from the masses of UFC fans across the country, and for White, this helps bring even more exposure and gravitas to his organization, which is already truly massive worldwide.

White has responded to questions on just what a UFC Fight Night at the White House might look like and the likelihood of such an illustrious extravaganza taking place, commenting.
“We had the meeting at the White House. It could not have gone better.”
“When he called me and asked me to do it, he said: ‘I want Ivanka in the middle of this,'”
“So Ivanka reached out to me, and her and I started talking about the possibilities, where it would be and, you know, I put together all the renderings.”
“This is going to be awesome. The White House fight is on. I’ll have more details on that in the next couple of weeks, but we got it done today.”
“The difference with the White House is I don’t think they’ve ever had anything very heavy out on the lawn, and the Octagon alone weighs 20,000 pounds,” White added.
Donald Trump has also gone on the record in terms of the event.
“We’re going to have a UFC fight, think of this, on the grounds of the White House,”
“We have a lot of land there,” Trump stated.
Some have discussed what a possible UFC card for the event would look like, with some believing legends like Jon Jones and Conor McGregor may well get top billing, albeit Dana White has made it clear that the chances of the former being present are very low indeed.
“I haven’t talked to him at all. I would not bet on it.”
“If I have to make odds, it’s a billion to one I put Jon Jones on the White House card.”
This is probably down to the fact that Jones is in the doghouse after he reneged on a deal with White to fight Tom Aspinall.
Could McGregor be involved in a White House fight? One imagines the odds on the Irishman being present are also very high, not least because the Dubliner’s return to UFC is seemingly perennially kicked further down the road.
Nate Diaz, another UFC legend whose last fight came back in 2022, has spoken of his desire to take on McGregor at the White House, commenting.
“Yeah, for sure [I want that fight],”
“We will see what happens.”
“Time will tell, guys.”
Let’s not get too ahead of ourselves. There will no doubt be a great deal of speculation between now and next July about which names will be on White’s roster, but one thing is for sure: it’s going to be spectacular.
