Cody Garbrandt vs Rani Yahya: July 9, 2022

Posted on June 13, 2022 by A. J. Riot

On July 9, 2022, Cody Garbrandt (12-5) will square off against Rani Yahya (28-10-1, 1NC) at UFC Fight Night. MMA Fighting broke the story first, and Garbrandt confirmed the fight on social media. It’s been a challenging year for Garbrandt, who hopes to get back on track in the division where he holds victories over Dominick Cruz, Raphael Assuncao, and Thomas Almeida. He’ll return to action in July, looking for a fresh start.

Sports Betting in UFC

Even though it isn’t one of the four major sports in North America, mixed martial arts (MMA) has seen enormous growth since the UFC became the world’s premier MMA brand. UFC and MMA as a whole have grown in popularity due to the legalization of sports gambling.

Pay-per-view events featuring the most well-known and accomplished boxers will draw enormous crowds. Betting on lesser-known fights is still possible, with MMA combat at various levels eligible for wagering. At least some of the bookmakers in Ohio are likely to provide wagering choices on a specific fight card.

Live betting on the UFC is a fun and exciting way to gamble on the fight as it happens. Betting on a fight no longer requires placing a wager before it begins. It’s also possible for you to join in the battle as it happens. With Caesars Ohio, you can wager on the fight while watching it on television.

Why wager on UFC?

  • People gamble on sports for fun, and this is the primary reason. They want to keep sports fandom as entertaining as possible. Adding a few bucks to a UFC pay-per-view battle may be enjoyable.
  • A fight card includes a preliminary card and the main card with the greatest fights of the night. Fights don’t last long, and after a few minutes, you move on. You may gamble on numerous bouts in a night.

Who is Cody Garbrandt?

Born and Brought up in Ohio, Cody Ray Allen Garbrandt is a well-known American MMA fighter who fights in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. ‘No Love’ is the nickname he’s most often known by. Cody Garbrandt is one of the most talented mixed martial artists and boxers in the world. Ultimate Fighting Championship bantamweight rankings presently have him at number 9.

At UFC 207, Cody Garbrandt defeated Dominick Cruz in a resounding victory. As he was just the second person to defeat him in a lengthy period, this was an important moment in his career. However, Cody Garbrandt was defeated by T.J. Dillashaw in UFC 217. He made his UFC debut in 2015 against Marcus Brimage after earning a multi-year contract. His uncle began teaching him wrestling when he was a child. His professional wrestling career has taken form because he began wrestling as a kid. Cody Garbrandt made his professional boxing debut in 2012, going 6-2 in his first season.

Who is Rani Yahya?

An MMA featherweight from Brazil, Rani Yahya, has just been signed by the Ultimate Fighting Championships. The Constrictor Team in Brasilia, Brazil, is where he practices Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as a second-degree black belt. He’s previously competed in the WEC, Jungle Fight, K-1, Heros, and K-1. Rani won the “Submission of the Night” bonus three times while fighting for the WEC. Mark Hominick, Eddie Wineland, and Mike Brown are among the famous opponents he has defeated. He has won fifteen of his nineteen fights, which ended in a submission.

Yahya has also competed in multiple ADCC World Championships, winning the under 65 kg class in 2007.

The Return of the Ex-UFC Champion

Cody Garbrandt was on the verge of becoming a major star in the UFC back in 2016. He had never been defeated, and all of Team Alpha Male looked up to him as their brightest hope for the future. Garbrandt was awarded a fight for the bantamweight championship against Dominick Cruz after winning three consecutive fights via knockout in the first round.

Garbrandt won the bantamweight championship with a performance that will go down in history as one of his best. But it was the pinnacle of his career, and after that, things only went in the wrong direction for him. Garbrandt was on a highly dismal losing streak due to injuries and having a weaker chin than before.

“No Love” has a record of just 1-5 in his most recent six fights, and he has been knocked out in four of those contests. Rob Font dominated him in the one battle that he didn’t get knocked out of, yet he still lost. The former champion of the UFC has, by all appearances, become a mere shadow of his former self.

Now, the former champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship competes in the weight class that propelled him to the forefront of the mixed martial arts world. Maybe he will be able to reclaim some of the magic. On the other hand, if Garbrandt suffered a defeat here, it may be his last fight inside the octagon.

Conclusion

You may use UFC live betting strategies such as watching for signs of exhaustion or a fight’s momentum in your research. It’s an exciting method to wager. The UFC betting odds constantly change, so you must act quickly if you see a number you like.
