UFC FIGHT NIGHT: LOOKING FORWARD TO GASTELLUM v. WHITTAKER

Posted on April 14, 2021 by A. J. Riot

For some reason, we cannot get enough of the UFC since the beginning of this year; it feels like an athlete in their prime. The promotion seems to have only big fights to offer or make, and we as fans can only be excited and appreciative of this level of talent and consistency. With all that is coming your way, having a bonus code handy, especially for the upcoming UFC events will be a good way to add to the fun of fight nights, and where better to get in on that adrenaline than at betoclock.com/bet365-bonus-code? UFC Fight Night comes up before the mighty clash of Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal at UFC 261, and it packs a punch.

At Featherweight, two fighters looking to grab a fifteenth career win will go up against each other, as Ricardo Ramos and Bill Algeo square off in the first of the main card fights. Both men are submission specialists with different fortunes leading up to the fight. Ramos comes in off a loss, while Algeo won in his last bout. Luis Pena and Alexander Munoz will go up next, both men looking to bounce back from losses in their last respective appearances in the octagon. It will be Pena’s technique against Munoz’s gritty style to grind out matches to the end.

The co-main event will be a Lightweight affair pitting Jeremy Stephens against Drakkar Klose. Stephens is the more experienced man, ranked 10th in the division, and will be coming into the match with a point to improve after five straight losses. His last outing was in 2020 against Calvin Kattar at UFC 249. Drakkar Klose lost to Beneil Darush in 2020, and has since been on pause. His record in the UFC is 5-2, and he will be looking to continue his climb up the rankings with what will be a high profile win against one of the stalwarts of the division.

The main event will be of curse Kevin Gastellum v. Robert Whittaker. Since losing to Adesanya, Whittaker has been on a mission, finishing offJarred Canonnier and Darren Till, with grind-it-out wins that show he can go the distance if required. Both decisions were unanimous. A win here could once again put him in Adesanya’s sights and will do a world of good to his rankings. Gastellum, on the other hand, lost to Adesanya, Till, and Hermansson before stopping the bleed against Ian Heinisch. This win will be the high profile win he needs to show he is back to himself and ready to make some noise in the division again. Having a more recent fight should give Gastellum an advantage in terms of conditioning, but Whittaker will be the better rested of the two. The preliminary card is also full of tasty matchups, especially amongst the women and should round out the event as another highly entertaining affair. This should be a good appetizer for what is to come at UFC 261.
