The Appeal of Boxing Betting

Posted on March 20, 2020 by A. J. Riot

Boxing betting is enormously popular, particularly when a major fight is coming up. Boxing has a long history of around 5,000 years, and there is also a long history of betting on this sport. It is the longest prevailing sports betting pursuit. It is mostly loved by fans who like full-contact sports such as soccer, rugby, and NFL sports. Sports channels are regularly broadcasting major boxing events through high definition video streams.

Boxing is primarily a martial art

Boxing is primarily a martial art, and a high profile combat sport practiced and enjoyed all over the world. Like in many martial arts, two fighters wage combat with each other in an elevated, roped off square area called a ring. The area of the ring must be at least 16 square feet and can be as big as 24 square feet, depending on the importance of the fight, prerequisite of fighters, and location of the event. It is a noteworthy point that large ring favors fast fighters, while a small one favors the big bulky punchers. The main aim of boxing is to punch the opponent with gloved fists to attain points and win the round. The fight continues for a predetermined number of rounds, or until one of the opponents is unable to sustain the punches and falls undefended, defeated lying in the ground for ten seconds resulting in a knockout.

Boxing betting

There are six primary markets on boxing betting, unlike other sports where there are many markets and options. In online sportsbook websites, you can place your bet on any major event with ease and convenience. From online sport betting websites, you can place a bet on other sports like football, tennis, basketball. Over there, you will find Football League Tables, which gives information about all upcoming football matches. Below are some of the most popular boxing markets.

Outright winner

You simply bet on one of the two fighters who you believe is more likely to win the match. You do not need to predict the rounds of the match or method of victory; all you need is to foretell the winner. This strategy of betting works best when you are certain that a particular fighter will win the match.

Total rounds betting

In a 12 round title match, the standard bet is 9.5; you wager the fight will last for more or less than 9.5 rounds. In this market, you are not predicting the winner; you are simply forecasting the number of rounds the fight will last;-9.5 less than nine rounds, +9.5 more than nine rounds. If you think the opponents are fairly evenly matched and both have the strength and stamina to sustain a long fight, then bet for +9.5.

Winning method

You are placing your bet on a particular fighter to win the match in a specific way. It could be by decision or by knock out.

While choosing a sports betting g website, focus on some factors before making your decision. Choose a reputed, trustworthy, and established online sports wager website to place your bet. Look for reviews and comments of existing bettors to know the pedigree of the website.  Choose a betting website that provides competitive odds, which will enhance your chance of winning.

4 Reasons Why Boxing Became Popular Among Students

Posted on March 9, 2020 by Emma Rundle

Boxing is an exciting sport, especially for the macho types, and quite attractive to most young male students in high schools and colleges. It is a sport that expresses masculinity and brawn and demonstrates power and courage.

Boxing is popular across high school and college gyms acting as a common denominator for the bright in class and the not so smart. It engenders a sense of unity for sparring partners and promotes respect among peers. Among many other reasons for the popularity of boxing for students, here are four top ones.

https://unsplash.com/photos/OQm9IafkvGU

1. Boxing helps relieve stress

Students face multiple stress loads, especially during exam times that can compromise their performance. Besides pressures to excel in exams, they face various personal and relationship issues and general stresses of growing up. This is where hitting the gym for a boxing workout or sparring is a good option besides having a good time with friends.

The intensity needed in a punching bag workout is heavy and stimulates a generous flow of endorphins. These body chemicals, when released into the bloodstream, act as a natural anti-stress and anti-anxiety drug.

The effect relieves the mind and leaves you feeling good and with a sense of well-being. It is a simple way to exercise and relieve stress and a boxing ring is freely available to students in most high school and college gyms.

Using EduBirdie is another good way of relieving yourself from the stress of writing assignments that are either difficult or to be submitted in tight deadlines. From essays to thesis and dissertation to coursework, the professional writers there can take care of every type of assignment for you.

The Benefits of Contact Sports on Your Mental Health

Posted on March 8, 2020 by A. J. Riot

One great thing to get into is of course, contact sports. They are great for your physical fitness, and sports like Muay Thai and mixed martial arts are great for building a strong mind-body connection so you can become better at controlling your body.

But what can contact sports do for your mental health? Why do they matter? Read on to find out the benefits of contact sports on a mental plane, rather than just on a physical one.

Helps Build Confidence

Contact sports require you to control your body in order to hit the opponent or the bag.  When you do it correctly, it can help you feel better about yourself.

For some of us, especially if we think we’re “small” or “weak” this can be a huge confidence booster. Being able to control your body in such a way proves you’re powerful, and for many people, it’s that boost of confidence that they need. If you really want to feel good about yourself, consider getting into some contact sports, for it can help you learn skills and help you understand your body.

It also is good to know because if you’re in a situation where you’re fighting someone larger, being able to take them down and knowing how to disarm them is incredibly valuable, and worth learning as well.

Where to bet on MMA fights

Posted on February 25, 2020 by A. J. Riot

MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) keeps growing in popularity as time goes on. The sport is a particular favourite to sports bettors. Big MMA fights often become wide-reaching events through traditional media channels, generating millions in betting revenue to bookmakers.

MMA has been known to create unreal amounts of hype over the years. So much so that big stars in the likes of Conor McGregor, Anderson Silva, Mirko Cro-Cop and Wanderlei Silva are names known to many people, even those with no interest in the sport.

As such, MMA has a prominent place at every respectable sportsbook’s portfolio of service. Meaning, you will have plenty of choice on the topic of where to bet on MMA fights.
