      Serg,

I didn’t see the fight. More importantly, the ranking system doesn’t have an ability to “see” fights. All we have is the official decision, which list this fight as a corner stoppage after round 1.

      Was there some controversy?

    • Serg says:

absolutely do not agree with such a fall of Oleg Bogov after a fight with Abdul Aziz Abdulvakhabov … you have seen the fight?

    • John says:

I haven’t commented in here in a while. It was actually when McGregor fought Diaz and then Diaz was then ranked #5 at Welterweight and now Diaz is #2 Lightweight. How so? McGregor, whom I’m not a fan of is ranked behind Edgar but McGregor is undefeated and Champion at Featherweight while Max Holloway is ranked above Aldo but Aldo is ranked higher than him on the P4P list? They are P4P the same weight. And I’ll be done complaining after this one because I do like your rankings a lot but they just seem a little out of sync at times and questionable. How is Edson Barboza ranked above Tony Ferguson?

    • Vincent says:

Damien Lapilus isn’t Belgian, he’s French.

    • oleg says:

The length of inactivity is what makes the difference. A fighter’s rating decays drastically after 450 days of inactivity; Jones fought very shortly after the 450-day timeline whereas Khabib was out for much longer.

The other factor is the fighter’s rating before they went inactive. Before Jones went inactive, he was #1 with more than twice the rating points than the next contender: http://www.fightmatrix.com/historical-mma-rankings/generated-historical-rankings/?Issue=102&Division=2&Page=1

Before Khabib went inactive, he was ranked #4 with not that much point separation between him and #5-#10 ranked fighters: http://www.fightmatrix.com/historical-mma-rankings/generated-historical-rankings/?Issue=99&Division=5&Page=1

So the length of inactivity, combined with significantly higher rating and separation from the pack pre-inactivity, explains why Jones returned to #1 spot whereas Khabib landed at #9 upon his return.

    • Ryan says:

Its simple. Khabib beat RDA when he wasn’t the champ. RDA has the belt so he’s #1. But then by your logic, why is Jon Jones ranked higher than DC? While Jones was inactive, DC beat Johnson and Gustafson (2 of the best LHWs). And Jones win over OSP should not play any factor. Just like Khabibs win over Horcher.

    • oleg says:

You sit out for two years = your ratings points decay, while active fighters gain more rating points and bypass the inactive ones. That’s how the system works. If you don’t think that’s fair and the only facts that matter is that he is undefeated and has a win over the current champ, why do you have him at #2 in your ranking and not #1?

Before asking where a specific fighter is ranked or why they aren't ranked:

    - We update the rankings once per week, usually on Sunday or Monday.

    - Fighters who have not fought in 450 days or more ARE NOT RANKED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

    - Use the "Fighter Search" option in the upper-right of the page. The fighter may be ranked in a different division.

    - Most of the divisions have multiple pages beyond this one. See the clickable ranges above and below the ranking table.

Furthermore, we do not maintain the "next fight" data. This is gathered from Sherdog. Any issues regarding this data should be forwarded to them.
