I was wondering if you make available the raw data used in your analyses? Is possible to get this data somewhere on your site?

Thanks...

Everyone worries about promotional variances. In the past ten years it has been simple like any other sport. There was Pride then the UFC. Both organizations widely considered to be number one in the world at the time.

So the only thing that has gotten worse since those two companies seperated in muddying the waters is there was one fighter who was good enough, smart enough and greedy enough to totally take advantage of it, not look guilty about it, and make it as legitimate looking as possible. In essence Fedors number one ranking and upkeep of it has been about as honest as a door to door energy salesman. Just look at your facts soon after reading this. If you can keep your eyes to the goal and exersize in a little meatcan per ranking ratio booking strategy, with hindsight being 20/20 and this should become as clear as day. Fedor while ranked number one at the end of pride was arguable. As I would argue he is one and one with Big Nog who tapped him, but Fedor got away with it(refs fault and in my personal opinion that of rankers who don't consider what they see on video just read on paper) Either way they very similarly ranked before that. Since then, from what we all know but experts at the time could have seen, is that Fedor took on some of the most undeveloped as mixed artist fighters he could find. Most(all)of them never to return to that ranking again. Eg; Mark Hunt. He was a hell of a kickboxer with K-1 success at the time(but who cares or otherwise Coture would still be knocked out by James Toney, lets draw the line at MMA experience being translated into rankings). Mark was ranked in the top 3 for a time. So somehow we should be basing history off of how a guy who just last year couldn't keep from his arm broken by a submission that was too ugly to go a training video? as being the key to victory of so many points that Fedor looks like God comparitively speaking to everyone else?
Back to this Fedor rank as base of all problems, then some guys like Big Foot and Werdum get a victory over him and they are all of a sudden top ten HW's or as we know now is not the standard for a top LHW like Hendo? Most of whom Fedor beat anyways would cause him significant damage during their losses? How else did he begin and continue to slide so bad? He single handedly abused every short sighted ranking system on the planet to build up points, mystique, hype and a paper legacy that can never be mathematically argued with until you include real life observation. Not to mention a personal bankaccount with M-1. Proof he did this on purpose was when he rejected the multi-million dollar offer he recieved to compete in the UFC and showed more interest in the terms of co-promotion than who he would be promoted against.
A blinded GSP missing cornea beat Jake Shields. Jake Shileds had to go up weight to fight Hendo at this natural weight and beat him. Hendo made Fedor look like a bum. Are you telling me that all heavyweights were ranked hundreds of points behind Fedor since Pride because they were so hand and foot behind him competing against each other was hardly worth anything, as Fedor often got smashed before finishing his fights in the mean time, it all added up from somewhere? Didn't joe rogan say it best about Lyoto Machida. How do you have a better gameplan than that for longevity don't get hit. Come on man he fell off faster than Chuck Liddell did with less of a fight in him and most peole have ripped Chuck left right and center. Guess what people Chuck beat Overeem and never ducked another fighter for being too anything let alone tough. And if you have to even pretend a little something else to get the point try this. Dan Henderson Pride HW, LHW, MW champ as per what happenned a few weeks ago, whats your arguements against that? Hendos age difference factor is more extreme now than it was then. It was ranking based fighter selection plus too many little kids still looking for the void left in their life from an era of watching Hulk Hogan style fights that will be Fedors place in history as the champion of giving fans worldwide as little for their monies worth as he sucked up more credit than he deserved. Spend and not earn= Bankruptcy/no strikeforce deal plus no thanks from me and let the door hit you in the ass on your way out Fedor.

Japan has been very overrated for the past decade or so.. but this has been retroactively adjusted.

The boxing database is too huge to fit our current model. Besides, BoxRec's rating system (which I previously assisted on) is more than adequate.

"•Community adjustments will be made at the start of every year, starting with 2012, that will control country populations that have a propensity of being over- or underrated."

Curious, what adjustments are you seeing so far based on your analysis?

Also, ever thought of doing FightMatrix-style rankings in boxing?
