A few days ago, I saw this list of fighters on another site. Right then, I realized that Nelson and Schoonover were the two favorites. I also felt that Schaub might have some potential. But all in all, this is a weaker group than I expected or hoped for. Most of these guys have no long-term future in the UFC.
Huh. I hadn’t seen a confirmed list, but if this is it, it’s not half bad. I’m a little disappointed that they brought in what I consider “veteran” fighters in Nelson, York, Blackledge, Wessel, Junk, and Sims. That’s almost half the guys that have experience in big organizations. I am very interested, however, in Schoonover, Wagner, Wren, and Jensen.
Here’s hoping more than just four of the non-finalists makes it onto the finale, as opposed to this season’s debacle. Honestly, no room for Defranco, Miller, Lawson, or Whitson. Gimme a break. I’d rather see any of those guys than have to sit through another Frankie Lester fight.
I think Roy Nelson will cruise through this thing. He should already be in the UFC
