The first official release of the rankings have been released today. In future releases, the ranking pages will contain a movement tracker, displaying a fighter’s movement between the previous release and the present one. As for frequency of updates… we are still giving this some thought.

top 50 is definitely enough but i like the idea of seeing how far it could go. its not so much the rank number but the point differences right? after a certain point, a fighter becomes insignificant in that division at that particular time. its interesting to quantify that value and down the road a see a history of a fighter’s movement up (or down) the ranks over time.
Some weight classes get “sketchy” well before #51. It just goes to show you how subjective ranking fighters really is. The point of this site is to give a non-biased, consistent, recent view of the MMA picture.
If we expand beyond 50 for the top classes, the display would stay the same, because its automatically generated. Once you set someone’s nationality, its set. The only issue is maintaining the proper weight classes.
I think top 50 is enough, thats better than anything else, and after that it gets sketcy. If you guys insists on ranking everybody, which I must admit would be a unique Idea, I would not suggest doing them in the complicated format with pictures and nationality and what have you…because that would just be a bitch to maintain. However, afte rthe top 50 maybe a word or PDF file with simple text of those ranked 51-(don’t know how high you all go). That would be alot easier, if you guys chose to go any further.
